Fujitsu Stylistic ST5111 and ST5112 Tablets Introduced

Fujitsu Stylistic ST5111Fujitsu today announced Stylistic ST5111 and Stylistic ST5112 tablet PCs, featuring Intel’s Core Duo ULV (ultra-low voltage) U2500 processors. According to the press release, the Stylistic ST5111 Tablet PC features a 10.4-inch screen, the largest front-lit reflective display in the industry, optimized for outdoor viewing and direct sunlight conditions. The Stylistic ST5112 Tablet PC offers a 12.1-inch bright transmissive indoor/outdoor XGA display with greater than 160° wide viewing angles.

The Stylistic ST5111 and ST5112 support up to 4GB of main memory and up to 100GB SATA hard drive, while the graphics is powered by Intel’s integrated Media Accelerator 950.

Unannounced ATI Mobility Radeon X1900 Shows Up In European Laptops

ATIFujitsu Siemens Computers, a notebook supplier in the European Union, has quietly started to ship not yet officialy announced ATI Mobility Radeon X1900, the X-bit Labs reports.

ATI Mobility Radeon X1900 is said to have 256MB of GDDR3 video memory, according to the Amilo Xi 1554 notebook specifications.

Eneco’s Chip to Reduce Energy Consumption in Laptops

Eneco Power Mode ConverterEneco, an US-based chip development firm, claims to have developed a “solid state energy conversion/generation chip“. The chip is capable of turning a proportion of heat energy directly into usable electricity and could be applied to reduce energy consumption in laptops and other devices, according to the reports.

Clevo is a Taiwanese ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) that supplies other PC sellers such as Alienware, Sager, MALIBAL and UK-based Rock PC who re-brand the notebook and sell it. Clevo M590KE will debut in the form of the Rock PC Xtreme SL Pro, Widow PC String 919, and the rumored Sager NP 5960V, according to the Notebook Review.

C Net gave 7.5 out of 10 mark to new ThinkPad tablet, while the Tablet PC Review says the engineers at Lenovo “hit a homerun” with X60 convertible. Gotta Be Mobile says the new tablet PC will have a large impact on the Tablet PC market.

Systemax Pursuit LaptopThe American PC maker Systemax today announced its first Intel Core 2 Duo-powered laptop. The 15.4-inch widescreen Systemax Pursuit has starting price of $999.99, according to the Mobile Magazine.

Along with Core 2 Duo T5500 at 1.66Ghz, Systemax Pursuit comes with 1024MB PC4200 DDR2 of main memory, 80GB SATA hard drive, DVD burner and the Intel’s Integrated Extreme Graphics 2. It also has integrated 1.3 Megapixel Camera, and comes with Windows XP Professional.

Lenovo Y Laptops for Asia-Pacific Announced

The Lenovo Y300 comes with 13-inch widescreen and is claimed to use a facial recognition technology via the built-in webcam, instead of a traditional fingerprint reader, while the 14-inch widescreen model is called Y400. It stands out with its built-in subwoofer.

Patent Filing Reveals Apple’s Multipurpose Touch Interface

Apple Multipurpose Touch InterfaceApple has been developing a multipurpose touch interface, similar to a track pad, on top of which users could place several alternative types of hot-swappable mechanical control interfaces, such as audio equalizer, musical keyboard, or video game controller, a recent patent filing has revealed.

Apple Insider reports that the May 12, 2005 filing, published for the first time by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on Thursday, describes “mechanical overlays,” which may include one or more “mechanical actuators” that provide touch inputs to a touch sensing pad.

It is reported that “Taiwan passive component makers are witnessing an aggressive increase in orders for high-capacitance multi-layer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), with most of the MLCCs having a capacitance of 22μF, and being for use in an AMD-based Apple notebook.”

Samsung Introduced M80 SATA and M80 2.5-Inch Drives

Samsung M80 SATASamsung today announced new M80 SATA, and M80 2.5-inch laptop hard drive series. Both series utilize Perpendicular Magnetic Recording (PMR) technology, an optional free-fall sensors and up to 160GB of storage capacity.

The M80 SATA Series features the 80GB HM080HI, the 120GB HM120II and 160GB HM160JI hard drives. The M80 (PATA) Series includes the 80GB HM080HC, the 120GB HM120IC and the 160GB HM160JC HDDs. The announced hard drives feature an 8MB of onboard data cache and 5,400rpm spindle speed.

Toshiba Satellite P100-ST9742 features Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 processor at 2GHz and NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX graphics card with 512MB GDDR3 video memory and DVI-D output port for connecting to an HDTV.

MSI S430 Dual-Core Laptop Announced

MSIMicro-Star Int’l today introduced the 14-inch widescreen MSI S430 notebook featuring the dual-core AMD Turion 64 X2 processor and the NVDIA GeForce Go 6100 graphics card.

MSI S430 supports up to 2 GB of DDR2 memory and is equipped with 5400rpm hard disk. The S430 provides dual 802.11 b/g wireless and an optional Bluetooth, as same as a built-in digital TV tuner, infrared remote controler and a double-layer DVD burner.

Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet PCAlong with ThinkPad X60 notebooks, Lenovo now offers the 12-inch screen ThinkPad X60 Tablet PC with new MultiView indoor/outdoor anti-reflective/anti-glare display screen with 170° viewing angle and new MultiTouch feature that allows users to move the cursor with their pen or finger. The Lenovo ThinkPad X60 tablets also come equipped with Lenovo’s patent-pending Active Rotate function. HP Laptops Received PC Card-Shaped Mouse
