Toshiba Satellite A135Toshiba today announced the 15.4-inch widescreen Satellite A135 laptop PC series, which will be available in three different configurations (A135-S4499, A135-S4467 and A135-S4427), all featuring the Microsoft Windows Vista OS. Additional innovation is the use of two hard drives in A135-S4499 model.

The new Toshiba’s laptops, powered by Intel Core Duo and Core 2 Duo processors, were built on Mobile Intel 945GM Express Chipset which features IntelPRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g). The A135’s 1280×800 display is powered by Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with 8MB-224MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory.

Windows Vista UltimateAlthough Windows Vista official release for consumers is scheduled for January the 30th, NewEgg already offers the Ultimate, Home Premium, Home Basic and Business editions of Microsoft’s new operating system.

Microsoft Windows Vista 32-Bit Ultimate Single Pack DVD – OEM costs $199.99, while Home Premium and Home Basic are priced at $119.99 and $99.99, respectively. Windows Vista 32-Bit Business Single Pack DVD – OEM is priced at $149.99.

HP Pavilion tx1000Hewlett-Packard’s the latest HP Pavilion tx1000 Tablet PC, with AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processor, 12.1-inch WXGA touch-screen display and Windows Vista OS, was recently reviewed by Laptop Magazine, CNet and PC Magazine. The HP tx1000 is said to have innovative design and a lot of features, as same as affordable price. But, it also has “mediocre tablet implementation”, according to the reviews.

Dell XPS M1710 World of WarcraftDell has put up for eBay auction the World of Warcraft edition of its XPS M1710 laptops, signed by company’s founder and Chairman Michael Dell and Blizzard Entertainment’s vice president of gaming Rob Pardo.

“Dell partnered with renowned artist, Mike Lavalle, to deliver a unique creation that was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show. The custom-painted XPS M1710 Burning Crusade Edition features Lavalle’s airbrushed re-creation of original composition from the new World of Warcraft expansion,” the auction page on eBay says.

Windows Vista (Ultimate) BoxMicrosoft introduced Windows Anytime Upgrade, Windows Vista Family Discount and Windows Marketplace, the three new methods for customers looking to buy, upgrade or license multiple copies of Windows Vista operating system.

Windows Anytime Upgrade allows customers to upgrade their existing edition of Windows Vista to a higher-grade edition by way of an online transaction. To use Windows Anytime Upgrade, a customer simply clicks on the Windows Anytime Upgrade option in the Start menu, selects the desired upgrade edition, purchases it online to secure a new digital key, and then follows the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.

Airport Extreme 802.11n Enabler Patch Coming Next Month

AppleIntel Core 2 Duo processor-based Apple Mac computers, including MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops, incorporate the next generation 802.11n wireless technologies. But, in order to enable it, the customers will have to install “Airport Extreme 802.11n Enabler 1.0” patch.

The 802.11n Mac patch will be available starting next month and will cost $4.99, Apple Insider reports.

Dell Latitude ATG meets military standards for vibration, humidity and altitude and is designed to protect against accidental bumps, moisture, and other elements that customers encounter working in the field. The new system features a shock-mounted hard drive, spill-resistant keyboard, port covers and high durability paint and is designed to withstand challenging conditions commonly associated with military environments, construction sites and first responders, such as police and emergency organizations, according to Dell.

Targus Universal ExpressCard Notebook Docking Station with Digital Video and AudioTargus, the notebook computer cases and accessories maker, announced a new Universal ExpressCard Notebook Docking Station with Digital Video and Audio during 2007 CES last week. The Universal ExpressCard docking station provides a single “one-touch” high-speed interface and has the capability to transfer up to 2.5 gigabits per second data, four times faster than USB, according to Targus.

The latest company’s docking station is one of the first universal ExpressCard stations with digital video output capabilities, digital and analog audio out, Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000), serial port, and four Hi-Speed USB ports, two of which are “always on” USB ports. The “always on” feature allows users to power and charge peripheral devices such as mice, mobile phones and MP3 players while the laptop is in standby or shut-down mode.
