Newegg now offers the Acer Aspire AS5516-5474 15.6-inch laptop for a discounted price of $290.
The Aspire AS5516-5474 includes the AMD Athlon 64 TF-20 1.6GHz processor, the ATI Radeon X1200 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB hard drive, a DVD burner, and a battery life of “up to 2.5 hours”. The display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels.

Lenovo’s recently announced IdeaPad U350 thin-and-light 13.3-inch notebook, based on the Intel CULV platform, can be purchased now.
Starting at 3.52 pounds, the Lenovo IdeaPad U350 features the Intel Pentium SU2700 ultra-low voltage processor at 1.3GHz, the GMA 4500M integrated graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, and up to 320GB of hard drive space. The notebook doesn’t include a built-in optical drive.

Best Buy has introduced the Next Class series laptops for college students.
“Designed directly from customer insight,” the four-unit lineup includes the 14-inch Dell Studio 1440-022B ($750) and Toshiba Satellite M505-S4940 ($650), the 14.1-inch HP Pavilion dv4-1465dx ($746), and the 15.5-inch Sony VAIO VGN-NW125J/T ($800).

Lexar Media Launches Crucial M225 SSDs
Lexar Media has announced the Crucial M225 2.5-inch solid state drive series, featuring read speeds up to 250MB/sec and write speeds up to 200MB/sec.
The “fastest, highest capacity Crucial SSDs to date” are available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, currently priced at $169.99, $329.99, and $599.99 respectively. The drives use MLC NAND flash technology and a SATA2 3Gb/s interface.

HP’s ProBook 4310s, a 13.3-inch laptop for business users, is now available for purchase.

Asustek’s first touch-screen netbook, the 8.9-inch Asus Eee PC T91, is now available for purchase in the United States.
Amazon.com and eCost.com offer the 2.1-pound convertible, the T91SA-VU1X-BK, that includes the Intel Atom Z520 CPU at 1.33GHz, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 16GB solid state drive plus a free 16GB SD card and 20GB via Eee Storage service, a “5-hour” battery, and Windows XP Home OS with Asutek’s exclusive TouchSuite user interface.

Google Introduces Chrome OS
Google has introduced the Chrome Operating System, an open source, free of charge, lightweight OS that will initially be targeted at netbook computers.
“Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010,” a post on Google’s official blog says.
Acer to Release Aspire Timeline 1810T Mini Laptop
Acer is going to release the Aspire Timeline 1810T, an 11.6-inch mini laptop that features Intel’s Ultra-Low Voltage processor, according to Macles.
Along with the 1366×768 display and the Intel ULV SU3500 CPU at 1.4GHz, the Aspire Timeline 1810T includes the Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, hardware accelerated decoding of HD video, support for up to 4GB of system memory, “8 hours” of battery life, and Windows Vista Home Premium OS.
