HP Pavilion dv8t Quad Edition Overview
The HP Pavilion dv8t Quad Edition series is Hewlett-Packard’s new 18.4-inch entertainment notebook.
The Pavilion dv8t Quad Edition utilizes the latest quad-core Intel Core i7 720QM or 820QM processor and replaces the 18.4″ Core 2 Duo/Quad-powered HDX18t, which is no longer available at HP.com. The dv8t Quad features the Nvidia GeForce GT 230M 1GB video card, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 1TB of hard drive space using dual HDDs, and a Blu-ray burner or Blu-ray combo drive. The display has a full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and is covered with edge-to-edge glass.

The HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition series is Hewlett-Packard’s recently released 17.3-inch entertainment laptop.
The Pavilion dv7t Quad utilizes the latest quad-core Intel Core i7 720QM or 820QM processor, whereas the standard Pavilion dv7t comes with the dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo CPU. The Quad Edition includes the Nvidia GeForce GT 230M 1GB video card, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 1TB of hard drive space using dual HDDs, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive. The 17.3″ LED-backlight display has a resolution of 1,600×900 pixels and is offered with a choice of edge-to-edge glass.

The HP Pavilion dv6t Quad Edition series is Hewlett-Packard’s new 15.6-inch notebook.
Unlike the standard Pavilion dv6t, based on the Intel Core 2 Duo dual-core processor, the dv6t Quad utilizes the latest Core i7 720QM or 820QM quad-core CPU. The Quad Edition includes the Nvidia GeForce GT 230M 1GB video card, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive. The 15.6″ display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and uses LED backlight.
Lenovo ThinkPad SL410, SL510 Now Available
Lenovo has announced immediate availability of the 14-inch ThinkPad SL410 and 15.6-inch ThinkPad SL510 laptops, featuring Intel’s processors, Windows 7 operating system, and a slightly changed chassis when compared to the older SL400 and SL500.
Designed for both business use and entertainment, the ThinkPad SL410 and SL510 come with Celeron or Core 2 Duo CPUs, the GMA 4500 Series integrated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive capacity, DVD burners or Blu-ray drives, 2MP web cameras, HDMI and VGA outputs, and optional mobile broadband connectivity.
Windows 7 Officially Launched
Microsoft announced today the worldwide availability of Windows 7, its new operating system for PCs.
Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional and Ultimate Edition upgrade licenses are priced at $119.99, $199.99, and $219.99, respectively. There’s also Windows 7 Starter Edition, which can be found on new netbooks. The first Windows 7 laptops mostly come with Home Premium Edition.
Lenovo IdeaPad U550 Launched
Lenovo has launched the IdeaPad U550 15.6-inch thin-and-light laptop, based on Intel’s ultra-low voltage processor and Windows 7 operating system.
The multimedia-oriented U550 starts at 5.3lbs and is 1″ thin. The first models feature Intel Core 2 Duo ULV CPUs at 1.3GHz or 1.4GHz, the Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated or the ATI Radeon HD 4330 512MB dedicated graphics, 3GB or 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB or 320GB hard drive, a DVD burner, and a six-cell battery for “up to 6 hours” of run time. According to a product page at Lenovo.com, the 15.6″ display has a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and uses LED backlight.

Apple Launches Unibody MacBook
Apple launched today the new white MacBook laptop, featuring a 13.3-inch LED-backlight display, a new polycarbonate unibody case, a non-user-removable battery that lasts up to 7 hours, and a glass Multi-Touch trackpad.
The 1.08 inches thin 4.7-pound MacBook has a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive, and a slot-load DVD burner. The 13.3″ glossy display has a resolution of 1280×800 pixels.
Toshiba Satellite T115 Overview
The Toshiba Satellite T115 is an 11.6-inch mini-laptop that belongs to the new Satellite T100 ultra-thin series.
The 3.5-pound T115 is powered by the Intel Pentium SU4100 or Celeron 743 ultra-low voltage processor and features DDR3 memory, a hard drive with 250GB or more storage space, a 6-cell battery delivering up to 9 hours of battery life, a 1366×768 LED backlight display, and Windows 7 operating system. The laptop does not include a built-in optical drive.

The Toshiba Satellite T135 is a 13.3-inch laptop that belongs to the company’s new Satellite T100 ultra-thin series.
Weighing at 3.88-pounds, the T135 is powered by Intel’s Pentium SU4100 or SU2700 ultra-low voltage processor and features DDR3 memory, a hard drive with 250GB or more storage space, a 6-cell battery for up to 9 hours of battery life, a LED backlight display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels, and Windows 7 operating system. The laptop does not include a built-in optical drive.
First Windows 7 Laptops to Start Shipping This Week
The first Windows 7-based laptops can be pre-ordered now in the United States.
The noteboks with Windows 7 Home Premium and Professional Edition can be found at various retailers such as Amazon, Newegg, TigerDirect and others and will start shipping on October 22.

Netbooks with Windows 7 Available For Pre-Order
The first netbooks with Windows 7 operating system are now available for pre-order in the US and will start shipping on October 22.
Around 70 Windows 7 Starter Edition-based netbooks by Acer, Asus, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Toshiba, Sony, Samsung and Gateway can be purchased from Amazon, Newegg, TigerDirect and other retailers. Regarding hardware, most of the listed netbooks are actually old models with 10.1-inch displays, Intel Atom processors, 1GB of RAM, and up to 250GB of hard drive storage.
HP Envy 13 Series Overview
The HP Envy 13 Series thin-and-light 13.1″ laptop is now available for purchase.
Measuring less than an inch thin and weighing 3.7 pounds, the Envy 13 has a chassis made of aluminum and magnesium. The notebook is based on Intel’s low voltage SL9400/SL9600 or ultra-low voltage SU9600 CPU and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512MB dedicated graphics. It comes with up to 3GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 250GB of hard drive space, and a 4-cell battery with an optional 6-cell extended-life unit. The laptop doesn’t include a built-in optical drive.
HP Envy 15 Series Overview
Hewlett-Pacakrd’s new high-performance entertainment notebook – the Intel Core i7-based 15.6″ HP Envy 15 – is now available.
Besides the Intel Core i7 i7-720QM 1.6GHz or i7-820QM 1.73GHz quad-core mobile CPU, the 1.04-inch thin Envy 15 features the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 1GB gaming-class video card, four memory slots for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 7,200rpm hard drive, and a 6-cell battery with an optional 9-cell extended unit. The laptop doesn’t include a built-in optical drive. Its 15.6″ full HD 1920×1080 display uses LED backlight.
