Acer has announced the new consumer-oriented Aspire and business-class TravelMate laptops, all based on the 2010 Intel Core processor family.
The 15.6-inch Aspire 5942 and 18.4-inch Aspire 8942 are entertainment notebooks and feature “first-class graphics solutions”, up to 1280GB of storage using dual hard drives, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and optionally integrated TV tuner and Blu-ray optical drive.
Acer’s TravelMate Timeline 8×72 is a new thin-and-light notebook range featuring 13.3”, 14”, and 15.6” models with a battery life of more than 8 hours, up to 640GB of hard drive space or up to 160GB of solid state drive storage, and a DVD writer.
The TravelMate 5740 and 7740 have 15.6- and 17.3-inch displays, respectively. These also feature Intel’s integrated or ATI Radeon dedicated graphics, up to 640GB HDD, up to 8GB RAM, and a DVD burner.
Finally, the TravelMate 6594 is an advanced 15.6″ business laptop with Intel vPro and Anti-theft Technology, “more than 10 hours” of run time with a 9 cell battery, up to 8GB of RAM, and a DVD burner, interchangeable with a with a 2nd HDD or battery option.
We have no info on availability and pricing for the new Aspires and TravelMates.
