The Lenovo IdeaPad Y730 features the latest Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 640GB of hard drive space using two 320GB units, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive. The glossy “frameless” display is managed by ATI dedicated graphics and has a resolution of 1440×900 or 1920×1200 pixels, depending on model.
Lenovo currently offers the Y730 with the ATI Radeon HD 3650 video card. According to the product specifications, the PC maker will also offer the Y730 with Intel’s GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics.
The 17-incher features four speakers and a subwoofer, Dolby Home Theater sound technology, a 1.3-magapixel web camera, touch sensitive audio-video control panel, and a Shuttle Key for volume and equalizer setting. Select models have a numeric keypad on the right of the keyboard, while other models on the same place have a GameZone keypad with directional buttons and user-defined keys for online gaming. In addition, the GameZone sports a display that “keeps users up-to-date on system performance and e-mail without breaking away from your game”.
There are also 802.11n wireless, Ethernet LAN, 56k modem, and Bluetooth connections, HDMI and VGA outputs, four USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, 6-in-1 media card reader, and Firewire.
