Acer has announced the Aspire 5920, the 5720, the 7720, and the 9920 consumer notebooks featuring the latest Intel Centrino platform, codenamed “Santa Rosa”, refreshed Core 2 Duo processors, and the new “Gemstone” design.
The new flagship in the Aspire range, previously announced Acer Aspire 5920, is tailored to meet the needs of the advanced home entertainment user. It features 15.4-inch widescreen display, NVidia GeForce 8600M GT graphics card with up to 512MB of dedicated video memory, Dolby Home Theatre Virtual Surround sound and the optional HD DVD drive.
The 15.4-inch widescreen Aspire 5720 is available with either shared graphics or the latest ATI graphic cards with up to 256MB of dedicated memory. It has an integrated Acer CrystalEye camera and Dolby Digital Live audio.
Acer Aspire 7720 multimedia notebook has a 17-inch widescreen display, either shared graphics or the latest ATI graphics cards with up to 512MB of dedicated memory, a second hard drive option, an optional DVB-T TV Tuner, an integrated CrystalEye camera and the Dolby Digital Live audio.
The Aspire 9920 for “ultimate entertainment” features a 20-inch widescreen display managed by the NVidia GeForce 8600M-GT graphics card with 512MB of dedicated VRAM and up to 2304MB TurboCache. Acer Aspire 9920 also offers digital terrestrial television through the integrated digital (DVB-T) TV Tuner, up to two hard disks, the Video and Voice over IP communication thanks to the built-in Acer CrystalEye camera and the optional Acer VoIP phone. It also has a HD-DVD drive and the Dolby Home Theatre Virtual Surround sound.
On selected models, the Aspire range is equipped with Intel TurboMemory “Robson” technology for increased system responsiveness.
Acer Aspire 5920, the 5720, the 7720, and the 9920 series come with Microsoft, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Home Basic or Windows Ultimate edition preinstalled.
