Acer will launch the refreshed Aspire and TravelMate notebook PC lines, both featuring models built on Intel “Santa Rosa” notebook platform, ComputerWorld reports.
The new Acer Aspire notebook PCs, called “Gemstone”, will be launched globally in June. The select Aspire models will feature HD DVD players, HDMI slots, Dolby surround sound and 17-inch screens. Along with “Santa Rosa”-based “Gamestone” laptops, there will be new models powered by AMD’s chipsets and processors. The new Aspire mobile computers will have changed and fashionable design when compared to current models. However, the company officials said that pricing will be competitive and there will be no premium for the extra design work that has gone into the machines.
The refreshed Acer TravelMate laptops, called ProFile TravelMate, will come in gray magnesium-alloy casings, according to ComputerWorld. There is no information on ProFile TravelMate’s further details and availability date.
