AS5920-6574, AS7720-6604 (looks similar)Acer’s first notebooks in the U.S. market with the Intel Core 2 Duo ” Penryn” 45-nanometer processors - the Aspire AS5920-6574 and AS7720-6604 - are now available for purchase.

The 15.4-inch AS5920-6574 and 17-inch AS7720-6604 come with the 2.1GHz T8100 “Penryn”, 3GB of RAM, a DVD burner, the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512MB dedicated video card, and Dolby Home Theater sound system with built-in two speakers and a subwoofer. The AS5920-6574 includes a 250GB hard drive with preloaded Windows Vista Home Premium, while the Vista Ultimate-powered AS7720-6604 ships with a 320GB of storage. The both systems have displays with a 1280-by-800 resolution and a built-in web camera on the top of the LCD panel.

According to the products’ specifications, the 15.4″ model includes a DVI port. On the other side, the 17-inch laptop has an HDMI output. The new Acer notebooks also provide VGA and S-Video outputs, 802.11a/b/g/draft n, Gigabit Ethernet and 56k modem connections, as well as four USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, and an infra-red receiver.

The 6.6-pound AS5920-6574 and 8.1-pound AS7720-6604 can be ordered via NewEgg for $1,199.99 and $1,349.99 respectively.
