Acer America Corporation today announced the North American availability of the new Acer Ferrari 1000 laptop featuring 64-bit AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-56 processor at 1.8GHz and carbon-fiber casing.
The 12.1-inch widescreen Acer Ferrari 1000 comes with ATI RADEON XPRESS 1150 graphics chipset supporting up to 512MB Hypermemory. It provides VGA, HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) and S-video TV-out ports.
The Ferrari 1000 incorporates draft-802.11n wireless chipset, Gigabit LAN, a Bluetooth with Bluetooth VoIP phone and a standard 56K fax/modem. It also provides FireWire (IEEE 1394), infrared, four USB ports, 5-in-1 card reader and a PCMCIA Type II slot.
Acer Ferrari 1000 has a 160GB SATA hard drive with Acer’s Disk Anti-Shock Protection, a 1GB of main memory, upgradeable to 2GB and an external Super-Multi drive (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RAM).
It features the Acer OrbiCam, a 1.3 megapixel web camera positioned on top of the LCD panel.
Acer Ferrari 1000 has battery life of up to 4.5 hours, weights less than four pounds and comes with Microsoft Windows XP Professional preinstalled.
The Ferrari 1000 notebook is available through Acer authorized resellers throughout North America with price starting at $1999.
