An Old Acer Ferrari 1000 Series LaptopAcer announced today the Ferrari 1200, a stylish 12.1-inch ultraportable notebook based on AMD’s technology.

The Ferrari 1200 includes an AMD Turion X2 Ultra dual-core mobile processor, M780G chipset, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, a SATA hard drive, a slot-load optical drive, Dolby Home Theater sound technology, and 802.11 WiFi connectivity. The widescreen display has LED backlight.

Along with a carbon-fibre case, the 1200 sports a ventilation design that “echoes the exhaust pipes of F1 cars” and an anodized-metal touchpad.

Acer’s new ultraportable runs Windows Vista OS and comes bundled with a Bluetooth wireless mouse and an optional VoIP phone.

The PC maker hasn’t provided info on pricing and availability date.
