Acer America Corporation today announced the North American availability of the new Acer Ferrari 5000 laptop featuring 64-bit AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-60 processor at 2GHz and carbon-fiber casing, styled in black and in the exclusive “Ferrari red” color. The 15.4-inch widescreen Ferrari 5000 comes with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics with 256MB memory, 2GB of main memory and 160GB SATA hard drive with Disk Anti-Shock Protection, and a double-layer DVD burner.
The Ferrari 5000 incorporates 802.11b/g wireless LAN, Gigabit LAN, and a Bluetooth with Bluetooth VoIP phone and a standard 56K fax/modem. It also provides VVoIP (voice and video over IP) via Acer OrbiCam integrated 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera.
Regarding ports and slots, Acer Ferrari 5000 has VGA out, HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) out and S-video TV-out, as same as FireWire, infrared, four USB ports, a PCMCIA Type II card slot, and a 5-in-1 card reader.
Acer Ferrari 5000 has battery life of up to 3.5 hours, weights 6.6 lbs and comes with Microsoft Windows XP Professional preinstalled.
The Ferrari 5000 notebook is available through Acer authorized resellers throughout North America with price starting at $2299.
