Acer Iconia Tab A500 Android Tablet Announced

Acer Iconia Tab A500Acer has announced the Iconia Tab A500, a 10.1-inch Android tablet which will support Verizon 4G LTE mobile broadband connectivity.

The engineering sample showcased at the 2011 CES Show runs Android 2.2, but the final version is expected to run Android 3.0 Honeycomb. On the top of OS, the device runs a custom Acer UI 4.5 user interface.

The tablet is based on the Nvidia Tegra 2 platform, supporting 1080p video playback, while its display enables “10 point multitouch” input.

Acer’s Iconia TAB has a rear camera, HDMI output, USB port, Micro USB port, Micro SD card and SIM card slots, and a dock connector. 4G LTE connection wasn’t enabled on the showcased unit.
