Acer TravelMate 6460 with Merom and Radeon X1300 Announced

Acer TravelMate 6460Acer TravelMate 6460, the 15.4-inch widescreen laptop feturing Intel Core 2 Duo Merom processor and ATI Mobility Radeon X1300 graphics card with up to 512 MB of HyperMemory, was announced by Acer America. The new TravelMate, categorized as Desktop Replacement notebook, has up to 4 GB of memory and a up to 160 GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive protected with Acer Disk Anti-Shock Protection (DASP+) Technology.

This Windows Vista Capable and Windows Vista Premium Ready laptop is built on Mobile Intel 945PM Express chipset, providing Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG (802.11a/b/g) or Intel PRO/Wireless 3945BG (802.11b/g). The TravelMate 6460 has Gigabit Ethernet and a 56K modem, while Acer Video Conference offers built-in VVoIP (Voice and Video over IP) capabilities via the built-in 1.3 megapixel Acer OrbiCam and Acer Bluetooth VoIP phone

Along with Trusted Platform Module (TPM), a utility for secure generation and management of personal cryptographic keys, the Acer TravelMate 6460 also has built-in fingerprint reader and the Acer SmartCard Security Solution with integrated Acer Platinum Secret security software to provide one-click encryption/decryption features.

Acer TravelMate 6460 weights around 5.95 pounds with 6-cell battery pack and optical drive, and it comes with Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system.

There is no official info about its price and availability, but CDW sells the Acer TravelMate 6460-6752 with Core 2 Duo T7200 processor for $1700.
