Acer Announces TravelMate 6593, 6493 Business Laptops

Acer announced yesterday the 15.4-inch TravelMate 6593 and 14.1-inch TravelMate 6493 business-class laptops, based on Intel’s Centrino 2 with vPro technology.

The new TravelMates feature Intel Core 2 Duo processors, GMA 450MHD integrated graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive, and the Acer MediaBay hot-swappable solution that offers a choice of an extra hard disk, a second battery or an optical drive with either a DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive or DVD/CD-RW combo. Both notebooks have a screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels.

The systems also include a built-in web camera and 802.11a/b/g/draft-n wireless connectivity.

The TravelMate 6593 and 6493 run Windows Vista Business OS.

The laptops start at $1,099.
