Acer TravelMate 8216WLHiAcer America yesterday announced the US availability of the Core 2 Duo (Merom)-powered TravelMate 8210 notebook, featuring Blu Ray drive and ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card with up to 512 MB HyperMemory and up to 256 MB of dedicated GDDR3 VRAM . The first model of the 15.4-inch widescreen 8210 “Small Office Home Office” series, Acer TravelMate 8216WLHi, is now available at select online retailers such as CDW and Best Buy, and it costs from around $2950 to $3000.

The TravelMate 8216WLHi, comes with Core 2 Duo T7400 processor at 2.16 GHz with 4MB of L2 cache, it has 2GB of RAM (max. supported 4GB), and a 160GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive with Acer DASP+ (Disk Anti-Shock Protection) technology.

Regarding connectivity, Intel 945PM Express chipset based Acer TravelMate 8216WLHi has IntelĀ® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection (802.11a/b/g), Gigabit Ethernet and 56K modem. The TravelMate 8216WLHi enables communication through Acer Video Conference technology featuring Voice and Video over IP (VVoIP) support via the LCD panel-mounted 1.3 megapixel Acer OrbiCam and the Acer Bluetooth VoIP phone.

The Acer SmartCard Security Solution protects the 8210 (8216WLHi) notebook against unauthorized access, while the Acer Platinum Secret security software provides one-click encryption/decryption features.

Acer TravelMate 8216WLHi, the Windows Vista Capable and Windows Vista Premium Ready notebook, weights around 6.6 lbs, and comes with Microsoft Windows XP Professional preinstalled.
