Acer TravelMate Acer has launched five business-use TravelMate notebooks: 6592, 6492, 6292, 7720 and 5720 series. These laptops feature Intel “Santa Rosa” platform, the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, and the new Acer TravelMate “ProFile” design with magnesium alloy chassis.

Based on Intel Centrino Pro technology, Acer TravelMate 6592 has an integrated virtualization capability, Advanced Managablity Standards (AMT 2.5) and Intel Wirless IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n module. The TravelMate 6592 offers large hard drive capacities, along with DVD burner or an optional HD-DVD optical drive. The notebook provides a choice of 15″ or 15.4″ display, which is managed by the new ATI Mobility Radeon X2300-HD graphics card with 128MB of dedicated video memory and with up to 896MB of shared VRAM using HyperMemory technology. For security and data protection, the TravelMate 6592 features TravelMate TPM (Trusted Platform Module) solution, fingerprint reader, and Smartcard support.

Acer TravelMate 6492 notebook series also features Intel “Centrino Pro” platform and has a14-inch display managed by the integrated Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 chip. This laptop provides an “excellent functional expandability through Acer ezDock II/II+, Acer’s bottom-based docking solution”, a 802.11 a/b/g/n wireless connection, WPAN connection with built-in Bluetooth 2.0 module, Gigabit Ethernet, and an integrated modem. Acer has equipped the TravelMate 6492 with the Acer Crystal Eye webcam, mounted at the top of the LCD panel, and with Media-bay to facilitate options such as a second battery pack, enabling power independent work time of up to 8,5 hours.

The TravelMate 6292 is an ultra-portable notebook with 12.1-inch LCD panel, but it provides desktop PC versatility through the Acer ezDock II docking station. It has a Wake-on-LAN ready Fast Ethernet card, an integrated data/fax modem and Wireless connection through the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n standard.

Acer TravelMate 7720 notebook family is equipped with a 17-inch display, Intel GM965 Express Chipset with the Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, WLAN (Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network connection chipset), WPAN with the built-in Bluetooth 2.0 module (on selected models), Gigabit Ethernet LAN and an integrated modem.

The 15.4-inch Acer TravelMate 5720 also uses Intel GM965 Express Chipset with GMA X3100 and provides wireless connectivity through the Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG network. “The exclusive design, the performance, the technological solutions and reduced weight (approximately 3.0kg) make the TravelMate 5720 the ideal solution for mobile professionals looking for a fully equipped notebook with all the advantages of modularity, security and comprehensive connectivity,” Acer says.

The new TravelMates come with Microsoft Windows Vista Business, Vista Home Premium, Vista Home Basic or Windows XP Professional Edition preinstalled.
