Alienware Aurora m9700 gaming laptop has just been refreshed with new features such as 1GB of graphics memory and the new color options. The Aurora m9700 is now available with dual 512MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics cards. In addition to Saucer Silver, the Aurora m9700 is now available in Conspiracy Blue and Cyborg Green color for additional $99.
Based on Alienware NVIDIA Mobile SLi chipset, this 17-inch widescreen notebook comes with one of the AMD Turion 64 Mobile processors with 1MB of L2 cache and with CPU speeds ranging from 1.8GHz to 2.4GHz. You can configure Alienware Aurora m9700 with 512MB, 1GB or 2GB DDR memory and with SATA hard drive from 60GB to 160GB. You can also have the m9700 with 320GB of storage space by configuring it with two 160GB HDDs.
The m9700 basic configuration includes single NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS graphics card with 256MB of video memory, but you can also purchase it with SLI enabled Dual NVidia GeForce Go 7900 GS featuring 2×256MB or 2×512MB of graphics memory, for additional $400 and $600 respectively.
The Microsoft Windows Vista Capable Alienware Aurora m9700 comes with internal 802.11b/g WiFi Card, but there is also one wireless option for $150 – an internal 802.11b/g WiFi Card with Airgo MIMO Technology, which makes your wireless network connection “go faster, reach farther and work more reliably than ever”. The Aurora m9700 also has an integrated 10/1000Mb Gigabit Ethernet, a 56K V.92 modem and an integrated Bluetooth device, as same as optional integrated TV Tuner.
Depending on configuration, the Alienware Aurora m9700 costs from $1700 to almost $4000.
Alienware estimates that will start shipping this notebook from September 11th.
