AMDGerman website Eeepcnews.de published yesterday information on a new AMD processor, which is possibly designed for use in low-cost ultraportable laptops, also known as netbooks.

The leaked CPU is a 64-bit single core chip clocked at 1Ghz. It has a power consumption of 8W. The processor has 256KB of L2 cache and an integrated memory controller supporting DDR2-400 SODIMM memory.

Carrypad UMPC notes that AMD’s product is “effectively half of a Turion X2 dual-core CPU”.

Sry. i am a bit lazy to post it in my blog, but that ‘news’ seems to be a hoax or at least a very ‘old one’.
