AnyDATA Corporation has released ADU-610, the “world’s smallest and fastest wireless USB modem”, which provides the support for 3G networks utilizing the latest HSDPA/UMTS technology.
The ADU-610 has 35×93x10mm size. It features an internal antenna, unlike first-generation data cards, and has its own battery. On a 3G HSDPA network anywhere in the world, ADU-610W enables connection to the Internet at data speeds of up to 7.2Mbps. In areas where HSDPA service is not available, ADU-610W still enables data connections over UMTS at up to 384Kbps. The new USB modem also supports GSM, GPRS and EDGE connectivity. According to AnyDATA, the ADU-610 modem works worldwide on wireless networks that utilize high-speed 2.1Ghz frequencies as well as 1800 and 900Mhz GSM networks.
AnyDATA ADU-610 is certified for PCs using Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) drivers. The modem has also been certified to support Windows Vista.
Currently, there is no information on pricing and availability.
