Apple has filled new patent application regarding its wide notebook touchpad with multi-touch capabilities.
The patent filling shows how this touchpad might be implemented on a Macbook Pro laptop, according to Gizmodo.
“This one’s going to take some software and hardware wizardry to make it functional, though, because you don’t want your palms and hands activating the touchpad at inopportune moments. On the hardware side, Apple plans to embed sensors that can determine where your hands are and what they’re doing, eliminating the problem before it starts,” the report says.
It was reported earlier that multi-touch technology, which is going to be built into the touchpads of the MacBooks, allows users to navigate through files and applications in the same way as on the iPhone.
