Asus today announced the 14.1-inch widescreen A8Jr, “the world’s first notebook series to utilize ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 graphics”.
“The new ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 will boost graphical performance, and utilize ATI’s HyperMemory management technology to deliver enhanced ‘performance-per-watt’ operations. It will offer Certified for Windows Vista 3D graphics that supports the visually stunning Windows Aero user interface,” the company’s press release says.
Based on Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset, Asus A8Jr uses Intel Core 2 Duo processor and incorporates Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG with optional Bluetooth. It has five USB Ports, TV-Out, DVI Port, Card Reader, ExpressCard slot and IEEE1394.
According to Asus, the A8Jr also has high-definition support capability.
The notebook weights 5.27 pounds with 6-cell battery and comes with Windows XP Home or Professional Edition.
There is no information on A8Jr availability and price.
