Asus EcoBook to Feature Natural Bamboo, Handwriting Trackpad

Crave CNet UK has published photos of the Asus EcoBook, the forthcoming laptop computer featuring natural biodegradable bamboo panels, as well as a trackpad with handwriting function incorporated.

Asus EcoBook’s replaceable “warm looking” bamboo panels are attached to the main laptop unit, but consumers won’t be able to exchange panels as is possible on some mobile phones, according to Crave CNet UK.

The report says Ecobook’s trackpad has been scaled up by 150 per cent in order to integrate a handwriting feature, which enables text inserting by use of fingers or a stylus.

The Asus EcoBook is expected to be launched in 2008.
