Asus Eee PC 1000(H)Along with the Asus Eee PC 1000, Asustek launched today the 1000H notebook series at the 2008 Computex show in Taipei.

Unlike the standard version of the company’s low-cost ultraportable with solid state drive-based storage, the Asus Eee PC 1000H uses a traditional hard drive.

According to a specifications sheet, the 1000H comes with an 80GB HDD, 10-inch display, the Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 802.11n wireless module, Bluetooth, an embedded 1.3-megapixel web camera, and Linux or Windows XP operating system preinstalled.

Asustek claims that the Eee PC 1000H has a battery life of up to 7 hours. The mini-notebook with the HDD weighs around 3.2 pounds. It is a little bit heavier than the standard 2.93-pound 1000 model with SSD.

Engadget reports the 1000H is priced at approximately $625 in Taiwan. Currently, there is no official information on its availability and pricing in the United States. According to a post at Liliputing, the launch date for the US market is July 8th.
