Asus Eee PC 1015PX Atom N570-Powered Netbook Now Shipping States-Side

Asus Eee PC 1015PXThe Asus Eee PC 1015PX, the first Asus netbook with the new Intel Atom N570 processor, is now available in the Untied States.

Besides the dual-core N570 at 1.66GHz, slightly faster than the 1.5GHz N550, the mini-laptop features a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 screen, 1GB of DDR3 system memory, and a 250GB hard disk with Windows 7 Starter pre-installed. There are two variants of the netbook: the 1015PX-PU17 with a 56W/h battery providing “up to 11 hours” of run time and the 1015PX-MU17 with a 48W/h unit for maximal “10 hours” of battery life.

The Eee PC 1015PX has stereo speaker system, a 0.3-megapixel web camera, wireless N, Bluetooth 3.0 technology, LAN and VGA ports, three USB 2.0 connectors, and an SD/MMC card reader.

Both PU17 and MU17 versions come in black, white, red, and blue color, and apparently share the same “Seashell” chassis shape and chiclet keyboard with the previously released 1015PEM. However, we weren’t able to find out if the cases have glossy or matte finish, which are both listed as options on Asustek’s official website.

Regardless of battery, both netbooks weigh 2.76 lbs, according to the product pages at Newegg.

The cheapest prices we have found for the N570-powered Eee PC 1015PX-PU17 and 1015PX-MU17 are $350 and $320, respectively.

  1. Guys, what’s the difference between the 1011PX-MU17-BK and 1015PX-MU17? The 1011 is about $20 cheaper, but I can’t find any differences in therms of specs and look. What’s the catch?
