Asus Eee PC 8GThe Asus Eee PC 8G laptop is now available for preorder through Dynamism.com for $499, and will arrive late December, according to the product pages on importer’s website.

The small and affordable Eee PC 8G has an Intel’s mobile processor at 900MHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of Flash memory-based storage capacity, a battery life of up to 3.5 hours, and a built-in web camera.

This notebook features an integrated graphics chip by Intel, which manages a 7″ 800×480 display. There are also two built-in stereo speakers, 802.11b/g wireless, an Ethernet LAN connection, three USB ports, a MMC/SD memory card reader, and a VGA output.

As same as the other Eee PCs, the 8G model runs a Linux-based user interface. The laptop comes in white and black colors and weighs 2 pounds.

A similar notebook - the Asus Eee PC 4G with 512MB RAM and 4GB of storage - is available in the United States for $399. The Eee PC 4G Surf is priced at $349, but it has a shorter battery life and no webcam.
