Asustek has quietly released the Asus Eee PC 900 16G low-cost ultraportable, which features 16GB of storage space instead of 12GB or 20GB in already available 12G and 20G models.
The Eee PC 900 16G is available for preorder through Excaliber PC. The 2.2-pound 8.9-inch netbook comes with Windows XP Home or Linux preloaded.
Prices for XP and Linux versions are $449 and $399 respectively. It’s interesting that the 16G is cheaper than the 12G, which runs XP. It costs $539 at Excaliber PC.
The other specifications of the Asus Eee PC 900 16G are the same as in the 12G and 20G models, and include an Intel Celeron processor, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g wireless LAN, a built-in web camera, and 4-cell battery. The 16G is available in white and black colors.
