Asus Eee PC 901, 1000, 1000H Available for Preorder

The new Asus Eee PC models - the 901, 1000, and 1000H, are now available for preorder through Amazon.com. The retailer, however, notes that it will deliver these low-cost ultraportables to purchasers when the devices arrive, without disclosing exact availability dates.

As same as the Eee PC 900, the 8.9-inch 901 is offered with 12GB of solid state drive storage and Windows XP Home operating system in the 12G model, or 20GB of SSD capacity and Linux OS in the 20G. The Asus Eee PC 901 12G and 20G are both priced at $599 and have white or black chassis.

For $699, users can preorder the 10-inch Eee PC 1000 with a 40GB SSD and Linux OS. The 1000 is available in white and black colors.

The offered ASUS Eee PC 1000H has an 80GB traditional hard drive with XP Home preloaded. The listed model is black and costs $649.

Unlike the Intel Celeron-based 900 and 700 series, the new netbooks feature the latest Intel Atom processors. All of the 901/1000/1000H models include 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g/n wireless modules, and built-in web cameras.

According to the product descriptions, the Eee PC 901 laptops have a battery life of up to 7.8 hours, while the 1000/1000H models provide up to 7.5 hours of run time between charges.
