Asus Eee PC 904 HDPC Retail Magazine confirmed today that Asustek is to launch a new low cost ultraportable laptop - the Asus Eee PC 904 HD.

The 904 HD will have the same chassis as the 10-inch models with a full size keyboard, but will ship with an 8.9-inch display reportedly.

“It will also feature a hard disk instead of a solid state drive that the other models feature, hence the HD after its name,” PC Retail says.

The 904 HD will hit the UK market “within a matter of weeks”, and will be priced at around £250 (around $500), according to an unnamed spokesperson.

There is no information on availability in the United States.

We assume this news is also a confirmation of existence of the Eee PC 904 with an SSD.

My thougths exactly, The EEEpc mini notebooks was famous for its small size and great price point in a subnotebook category. Now they are getting bigger and more expensive while turning into just a everyday notebook.. but with like 10 different flavors.. Next month tthey will be 11, 12, and 13 inch sizes I bet. What the hell ASUS dont milk the eeepc series like this please

Kewl. If they increase the screen to a 10″ while keeping the price the same (or if they make the EEE1000 about $100 cheaper), they will have an MSI Wind.

I don’t mind the upwards creep in size. The 700 and 900/901 are just too damn small to type on.
