The Asus Eee PC model 4G with Windows XP operating system preinstalled is now available in the United States.
Asustek’s low-cost 7-inch ultraportable laptop with XP is in stock at Best Buy and costs $399. It can be purchased online only. The Eee PC with Microsoft’s operating system is available in white (EEEPC4G-W010X) and black (EEEPC4G-BK010X) color.
These mini-notebooks include an Intel Celeron M processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of Flash memory-based storage, and a built-in web camera.
The Eee PC 4G with Linux OS also costs $399 at BestBuy.

Ha, ha. That means that MS is not making money on it. They are subsidizing this purely as a defensive move against Linux. It won’t do any good. You can’t patch a cracking dam with a finger. It is just going to keep getting harder and harder for MS to contain Linux adoption.
