The Asus Q400A-BHI7N03 is powerful yet portable laptop PC, featuring a 14″ display, a quad-core Intel processor, Intel HD integrated graphics, 8GB of RAM which is double the commonly offered amount, a 750GB hard drive, up from usual 500GB, and a DVD writer which is missing on some portability-oriented notebooks. The aluminum-topped laptop in dark gray color comes with the Intel Core i7-3632QM quad-core processor, delivering impressive benchmark results for a mobile CPU. It’s far faster than the pretty much capable Intel i5, not to mention the lower-end Intel and all AMD processors, making this Asus model a true powerhouse.
Despite having a great processor, the Q400A-BHI7N03 isn’t intended for gaming, since it has the mediocre Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics. If you add the large amounts of RAM and HDD, the machine appears to be more suitable for heavy multitasking and multimedia consumption and creation.
Other stand-out features of the notebook are backlight keyboard for typing typing in a darkened room and Intel Wireless Display technology for wireless streaming of video content from your laptop to a monitor or HDTV.
With a footprint of 12.9 x 8.9 inches and weight of 4.2 pounds, the Asus Q400A-BHI7N03 is more portable than the standard 14-inhers, thanks to its slim LCD bezel. On the other side, 1.3″ thickness is average for the category, so you can not expect ultrabook-like sleekness. The laptop looks a little bit different than others, because it has a white / silverish chiclet keyboard embedded into black base of the aluminum chassis.
Another great thing regarding this machine is pricing. It costs $650, which is a good selling point, considering the included excellent CPU and other components, premium design, and keyboard backlight.

I have a question. Will the HDMI support 4k out to an external monitor?
I bought this laptop 9 years ago and it still works perfectly, it has been my companion in battles programming, studying, playing video games, I have never met anyone else that his laptop lasts so long, I have never repaired it or even opened it. This laptop friends is epic, soon I will retire it and buy a Huawei Matebook Pro X. But while it has earned a special place in my life
Its been a while that you posted this, but i think the laptop is perfect. In my opinion, it is quite intended for gaming, since im a Youtuber and make gaming videos. Its works perfectly for me, but i had a problem last week. the computer didn’t charge anymore so i send it to a place so they fix it. The plug in the pc was in short circuit. But they fixed it. I really reccomend you to buy!

My first computer, and I’m less than happy with it. The computer shuts off on its own for some strange reason., it gets hot with moderate use,and the final straw- After owning this product for two years the screen craped out on me, unfortunately after the one year warranty expired. I will definitely not be buying any more asus products.
Pls check cpu fan this problem is mainly caused due to processor over heating
asus q400a when ac adapter is pluged in its green lite blinks dim and asus wont power up
It’s been a while since you posted, but I had the same experience. I had to hold the plug in various positions to get it to charge. I sent it into ASUS 3 times to be repaired. The first time it still wasn’t working right out of the box! The third time ASUS kept the laptop for 2.5 months before offering a replacement. That replacement ended up with the same problem. I sent it back in since the representative said it was under warranty, then they returned it saying it wasn’t under warranty. I’d caution about getting an ASUS product because they’re service isn’t great and they won’t consider there’s a problem with the design on this unit.
Does anyone have any info on their webcam not working after the windows 8.1 update.
I’ve contacted them via Facebook citing your question and here’s the answer:
Hi, I’m unable to reply with the ASUS handle but has he downloaded all the drivers for Windows 8.1 under Download? That might help: http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=3&s=448&m=Q400A&os&hashedid=n%2Fa
If that doesn’t work he should contact our tech team: http://www.asus.com/support/CallUs

Why there are no information about this model on ASUS website?
The Q400A is a kind of Best Buy exclusive. They usually have Q-series notebooks at Best Buy that have their corresponding US/worldwide counterparts like Q200 = X202, but I wasn’t able to find any Q400A counterpart.
I’ll be waiting for BestBuy stores in Russia then) However it’s a pity that there is no discrete graphics card, like nvidia 635m in Asus u32vj.
Does it support m.2 sata ssd?
