Asus Transformer Book T200 Windows 2-in-1 Hybird Coming Soon

Asus has quietly unveiled the Asus Transformer Book T200 Windows 8-based 2-in-1 hybird PC. As same as the currently available T100, the T200 transforms from laptop to tablet mode by detaching the keyboard. The biggest change on the newer one is a larger screen. It got bumped from 10.1″ to 11.6″. The resolution however remained at 1366×768 pixels. When you add the fact that the CPU is still an Intel Atom with basic performance and that RAM remained at only 2GB, it’s clear the T200 is a budget-class machine, just like the T100 and Acer’s similar Switch 10. Storage options are still 32GB and 64GB. Another change on the new device is inclusion of an optional hard disk drive, which is located in the keyboard dock.

Asus has also refined the design, so the T200 sports matte finish on the lid instead of glossy.

The Asus T200 has micro HDMI video output, micro USB 2.0 port, an SD card slot, audio jack, and a dedicated charging port on the tablet part. The keyboard carries a USB 3.0 port and an Ethernet LAN port.

The tablet weighs 750 grams, while weight of the keyboard varies depending on presence of the HDD option in it.

The price is expected to be $400 / 400EUR for the basic version when the device hit the market in August.

Update: The T200 is available now.
