Asus U36JC-A1 Ultra-Thin Laptop Available for Pre-Order

ASUS U36JC-A1Asustek has released recently the Asus U36 ultraportable 13-inch laptop, which is now available for pre-order in the US.

Excaliber PC offers the Asus U36JC-A1 featuring the Intel Core i5-460M 2.53GHz dual-core full-voltage processor, Nvidia Optimus switchable GPU technology combining the GeForce G310M 1GB DDR3 dedicated and Intel GMA HD integrated graphics, 4GB RAM, a 500GB 7,200rpm hard drive, 1366×768 13.3″ LED screen, and Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

The U36 is “the lightest notebook with a standard voltage CPU”. It weighs 3.17 pounds with a 4-cell battery and has an ultra-slim profile measuring only 0.75″. However, the Asus U36JC-A1 model comes with an 8-cell battery which provides “up to 10 hours” of battery life. The U36JC-A1 weighs 3.74 pounds.

Asustek’s ultraportable also sports a magnesium-aluminum alloy cover, easy to clean silky nanometer coating on the palm rests, chiclet-style keyboard, 0.3MP web camera, wireless N, Gigabit LAN, Bluetooth, HDMI and VGA video ports, a single USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 connectors, and a 5-in-1 media card reader.

The Asus U36JC-A1 is priced at $969.00 (Excaliber PC).
