Asus U46SV-DH51 Thin-Bezel 14″ Laptop Coming October 1st

The Asus U46SV-DH51 14″ thin-and-light laptop can be pre-ordered now in the USA, via Excaliber PC.

The notebook is thin but it doesn’t belong to Ultrabook category. Asustek has managed to pack a full-voltage Intel Core i5-2410M processor, discrete NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M GPU, 4GB RAM, a 640GB hard drive, and a DVD burner in a chassis measuring 1.08 inches at the thickest point.

The Asus U46SV has a Brushed Champagne casing with a hinge-forward design, and follows a thin bezel trend present in some Samsung, Gateway, and other laptops. Thin bezels allow the 14″ 1366×768 LED screen to be incorporated into a smaller chassis than those of standard 14″ laptops.

This system weighs 4.85 lbs, but that’s with an 8-cell battery, which is claimed to provide up to ten hours of usage on a single charge.

As same as the bigger U56, Asustek’s new laptop has a full range of common ports and slots including HDMI and VGA, 2xUSB 2.0 and 1xUSB 3.0, Gigabit LAN and a 3-in-1 media card reader, besides a 0.3MP webcam, and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.

The ASUS U46SV-DH51 is priced at $879 and is expected to start shipping on October 1st.
