Asus V1 Merom Laptop Launched

Asustek Computer (ASUS) today launched V1 laptop series, featuring the latest Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile (Merom) CPU. The Asus V1 “ultra slim” notebook has a 15.4-inch screen and weights 5.9 pounds (2.7 kg). It incorporates Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset, an ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card with 256MB or 512MB of video memory, up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and a 80GB, 100GB or 120GB SATA hard drive, with second HDD available.

Relative to connectivity, the V1 laptop comes with 10/100/1000 Ethernet, 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth V2.0 + EDR.

Asus enchased V1 laptop’s security by incorporating a fingerprint reader, and an ASUS Security Protect Manager to setup multi-factor authentication requirements for data access of different security level.

Asus V1 comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home or Professional preloaded.
