Asustek today announced the 14-inch widescreen Asus V2 business notebook with High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) wireless broadband capability, advanced security features and Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
“Incorporated with HSDPA wireless broadband capability, users will enjoy a boost for download speeds by approximately 10 times faster via WCDMA networks without the need to connect the computer to a mobile phone. Access emails, surf the internet, download attachments and access corporate networks through the convenience of a virtual private network”, the company’s press release says.
Asus V2 also incorporates 900/1800/1900MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE capability, Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g), Bluetooth 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet.
Regarding security, Asus V2 features fingerprint authentication, as same as ASUS Security Protect Management (ASPM), which guards access to the device and network.
Along with 64-bit Core 2 Duo processors, the Intel 945PM Express Chipset based Asus V2 supports up to 2GB of main DDR2 memory, ATI Mobility Radeon X1450 graphics and SATA hard drive with up to 160GB of storage capacity.
The new notebook also incorporates built-in microphone and high-resolution webcam “for easy video conferencing without the hassle of external connections”.
There is no info on Asus V2 price and its availability date.
