Recently announced Averatec 7100 is said to be “the lightest 17-inch laptop” with approximately 7.2 lbs weight. Averatec 7100 features AMD Turion 64 or Mobile Sempron Processor, 512MB or 1GB System RAM (upgradeable to 2GB), 80GB or 100GB Hard Drives and an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Graphics.
Averatec 7100 configurations have dual Layer DVD Burner, 802.11 b/g Wireless LAN, 5-in-1 Media Card Reader (MMC/MS/MSPRO/SD/xD), PCMCIA and PC Express Expansion Slots and a full size keyboard and numeric keypad.
Averatec 7100 street prices, according to engadget.com, vary from $849 to $1,199 (depending upon configuration).
