Averatec AV7170-EC1 – the Company’s First Dual-Core Laptop

Averatec AV7170-EC1Averatec introduced the AV7170-EC1, the company’s first laptop to incorporate dual-core processor. Averatec AV7170-EC1, the 17-inch widescreen notebook, features the new AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core mobile technology, a 100GB SATA hard disk drive operating at 7,200RPM and 1GB of DDR2 memory operating at 533MHz. It has nVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 integrated graphics.

The AV7170-EC1, new laptop in Averatec’s 7100 series, also features a 802.11b/g wireless, an integrated Gigabit Ethernet, a standard full-size keyboard with a separate full-size numeric keypad, a built-in dual-layer DVD/CD burner and an integrated 5-in-1 media card reader that supports xD, MS, MS PRO, MMC and SD memory card formats. It comes with Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition operating system installed.

Averatec AV7170-EC1 offers sleek black and silver styling, a trim 1-inch profile and weighs 7.2 pounds.

Information about it’s battery life wasn’t provided in Averatec’s press release.

The AV7170-EC1 is offered at an estimated street price of $1,149.99, and initially will be offered exclusively at Costco stores nationwide, Averatec announced.
