HP Mini 1101 Netbook Overview
Hewlett Packard has recently unveiled the HP Mini 1101, a new 10.1-inch netbook for business users.
The Mini 1101, based on Intel’s Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU and 945GSE chipset, comes with 1GB or 2GB of DDR2 memory, up to 250GB of hard drive space or a 32GB solid state drive, and a 3- or 6-cell battery. The netbook with Windows XP Home preinstalled supports up to 1GB of RAM, whereas Windows Vista Business-based systems support up to 2GB.
Fujitsu M2010 Netbook Now Available in US
Fujitsu has launched the M2010, the company’s first netbook for the North American market.
The 2.5-pound Fujitsu M2010 features a 10.1-inch 1024×576 LED backlight display, the Intel Atom N270 processor at 1.6GHz, the 945GSE chipset, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP Home OS, and a 3-cell battery for up to 2.5 hours of battery life or a 6-cell unit for up to 5 hours.
HP Mini 110, 1101 Netbooks Announced
Hewlett-Packard today expanded the HP Mini netbook family with three new models - the HP Mini 110 XP Edition and Linux-based HP Mini 110 Mi, both for consumers, and the HP Mini 1101 for business users.
The Mini 100 / 1101 models, all with 10.1-inch LED backlight displays, are based on Intel’s Atom N270 / N280 processors. The Mini 110 XP will additionally include an optional Broadcom HD video chip for decoding of 1080p high-definition content.
Lenovo Unveils IdeaPad S12 Netbook with NVIDIA Ion Platform
Lenovo today announced the IdeaPad S12 netbook that will feature the NVIDIA Ion platform in select models.
The company’s first 12-inch netbook includes a full-size laptop keyboard, the Intel Atom processor, Intel’s integrated GPU or 1080p-capable Ion graphics, a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of RAM, a battery life of “up to six hours” with a 6-cell battery.
Dell Latitude 2100 Student Netbook Launched
Dell has launched the Latitude 2100 educational netbook, featuring a 10.1-inch display, Intel’s Atom CPU and a ruggedized design.
The Dell Latitude 2100 is aimed at K-12 students, as we as “any business or public institution that needs affordable, durable, Internet-ready devices for e-mail and collaboration”.
Acer Aspire One D250 Now Shipping
Acer’s new 10.1-inch netbook, the Aspire One D250, is now available in the US.
The 2.4-pound Acer Aspire One D250, also known as AOD250, comes with the Intel Atom N270 processor at 1.60GHz, the GMA 950 integrated graphics, a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP Home preloaded, 1GB of RAM, a 3-cell battery as a standard, and a built-in web camera. The 10.1″ display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels.
Dell Inspiron Mini 10v Now on Sale
Dell’s Inspiron Mini 10v 10.1-inch netbook is now available for purchase in the US.
Instead of the Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz/Z530 1.6GHz processor in the standard Mini 10, the Mini 10v includes the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz CPU. The Z-series Atom chips are paired with the Intel GMA 500 integrated graphics, whereas the N270-based 10v features the GMA 950 IGP.
Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 Netbook Announced
Lenovo today officially announced the IdeaPad S10-2, an improved version of their 10.1-inch S10 netbook.
The S10-2 is 0.2kg lighter and 4mm thinner than the S10 and includes a slightly larger and improved keyboard and larger touchpad, a 6-cell battery for “up to 30 percent more battery life than before”, an additional USB port for a total of 3 ports, and a new cover pattern and color design. The netbook’s sound system is upgraded with Dolby headphone technology, while select models also include a built-in 3G mobile broadband module.
Samsung N120 Netbook Launched in US
Samsung’s new netbook, the 10.1-inch N120, is now available in the US.
Amazon offers the white Samsung N120-12GW and the N120-12GBK in black. The 2.8-pound netbooks are based on the Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor and feature 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP Home preloaded, a 6-cell battery, and a display resolution of 1,024 by 600 pixels.

Samsung NC10-11PBK Special Edition Netbook Available
Samsung’s NC10-11PBK Special Edition 10.2-inch netbook is now available in the US.
The NC10-11PBK, offered by Amazon, has a battery life of “up to 9.4 hours”. That’s an increase from 8 hours in the standard NC10 models. Furthermore, the Special Edition is black, whereas the standard NC10 has either white or blue chassis. The product page on Amazon.com also says that the NC10-11PBK’s touch pad is larger than on other NC10 models.
Acer Aspire One AOD150 with 10.1″ Display Officially Launched in US
Acer announced on Monday U.S. availability of the Aspire One AOD150 netbook, featuring a 10.1-inch display and the Intel Atom processor.
Along with the Atom N270 CPU at 1.60GHz, the 2.95-pound Acer’s AOD150 includes the Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset with the GMA 950 graphics, a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP Home preloaded, 1GB of RAM, a 6-cell battery, and a built-in web camera. The display has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Update: Models with a 3-cell battery and 2.6-pound weight are also available.
ASUS Eee PC 1000HE Available for Pre-Order
The ASUS Eee PC 1000HE netbook, featuring a 10-inch screen, a new Intel Atom processor, and a battery life of “up to 9.5 hours”, is now available for pre-order at Amazon.com.
The first Eee PC 1000HE models are the black EPC1000HE-BLK005X and blue EPC1000HE-BLU002X. According to the product page at Amazon, the new version of the popular mini-laptop is based on an unnamed Intel Mobile Chipset. The system includes the Atom N280 CPU with a 1.66GHz clock speed and a 667MHz FSB, which is up from 1.6GHz and 533MHz of the older N270. The Windows XP Home-based EPC1000HE-BLK005X and EPC1000HE-BLU002X have a 160GB hard drive, 1GB of DDR2 memory, and a 1.3MP web camera. The display has a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and LED backlight.
Toshiba Announces $529 Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511
Toshiba announced today the Satellite Pro S300-EZ1511 business notebook model, priced at $529.
The budget 15.4-inch laptop features the Intel Pentium T3400 processor at 2.1GHz, GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 120GB hard drive, and a DVD burner. The screen resolution is 1280×800.
Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Now for $99 with AT&T 3G Service Purchase
Dell now offers the Inspiron Mini 9 for $99 after $350 mail-in rebate for customers who purchase the netbook with AT&T 3G mobile broadband service.
“Rebate offer requires purchase of a qualifying Dell Inspiron Mini 9 with an integrated mobile broadband card through Dell Home Systems during the valid mail in rebate offer period. You must also activate AT&T Data Connect service starting at $60 per month and maintain said service for 90 calendar days,” the company announced.
