IBM ThinkPad T30 Refurbished at Amazon
IBM ThinkPad T30 is a thin, light notebook that will help you get the job done, wherever you roam. And because it’s been factory reconditioned, it’s a great value. It features a battery-sipping 1.8 GHz Pentium 4-M (Mobile) for long battery life while away from the office and the Windows 2000 operating system. Weighing just under 6 pounds and measuring 1.5 inches thin, this notebook also features a 40 GB hard drive, 256 MB of installed RAM, a bright 14.1-inch screen, and a removable DVD-ROM drive. Refurbished IBM T30 is available at Amazon.
.
IBM ThinkPad T30 – The Basics
* Hard Drive: Since the focus is on affordability, this T30 comes with just a 40 GB hard drive. While this may have sounded gigantic at one time, it is one of the smallest hard drives you’ll find in a desktop computer. That said, it offers more than enough room for home office productivity software, storing family photos, and a decent-sized digital audio library.
* Processor: The 1.8 GHz Intel Pentium 4-M (Mobile) processor offers enough speed for your work today, though it’s speed lags behind what is available in contemporary notebooks with this processor (May 2005). Thanks to its Mobile features, the processor can save power when its not needed, thus conserving battery life.
* Memory: The 256 MB of installed RAM will get you started, but you’ll want to add more to handle any kind of multimedia application and most business productivity suites. This notebook has a 1 GB maximum RAM capacity.
* CD/DVD Drive: The DVD-ROM drive enables you to access CDs and DVD movies while on the road. It’s also removable, so you can travel even lighter.
* Keyboard & Mouse: This notebook has a standard 86-key keyboard and electro-static two-button touchpad.
IBM ThinkPad T30 – Screen, Graphics and Sound
Video and graphics are powered by the ATI RADEON 7500 card (AGP 4x) with 16 MB of video RAM, which provides a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels on the 14.1-inch screen and 2048 x 1536 pixels on an external monitor. It also features an integrated Sound Blaster 16/Pro-compatible audio card with headphone and microphone jacks.
IBM ThinkPad T30 Connectivity and Expansion Slots
The T30 is loaded with just the basics (i.e., no wi-fi) for external connectivity:
* 2 USB 2.0 ports for connecting a wide range of peripherals–from digital cameras to MP3 players
* 1 VGA monitor port
* 1 Serial port
* 1 Parallel port
* 1 infrared port
* 1 S-Video out
* 2 PCMCIA (or PC Card) slot (Type I/II)
* 1 headphone jack
* 1 microphone jack
It also has an integrated 56K modem (V.90) and an RJ-45 LAN network port (for a 10/100 Gigabit Ethernet connection to networks and DSL/cable modems).
IBM ThinkPad T30 Preloaded System and Software
This ThinkPad comes with the Windows 2000 operating system, which is outdated in the world of XP but is still a fairly powerful system.
IBM ThinkPad T30 Dimensions and Weight
Perfect for portability, the T30 weighs 5.7 pounds and measures 12 x 9.8 x 1.5 inches (WxDxH).
IBM ThinkPad T30 Power
It’s powered by a lithium-ion rechargeable battery that has up to a 3.2-hour battery life.
What’s in the Box
This package contains the IBM T30 236641U factory refurbished notebook PC, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, AC adapter, and operating instructions. It is backed by a 6-month limited hardware warranty.

Dell Latitude C610 Refurbished at Amazon
The Dell Latitude C610 laptop / notebook is a great choice for budget-minded mobile business traveler who need quick access to important spreadsheets and word processing documents. Weighing just 5.73 pounds, the Dell Latitude C610 still packs a 14.1-inch LCD screen and a 1.2 GHz Pentium III processor into its compact chassis, ensuring that most applications run efficiently. The Latitude C610’s 256 MB of standard memory and 20 GB hard drive are fairly minimal in today’s computing climate, but are more than enough to handle most business tasks. Plus, users can expand the memory up to 1 GB to handle more sophisticated graphics software or video games, or to keep the computer humming smoothly when running several applications at once.
Adding to the Dell Latitude C610 value is an integrated DVD/CD-ROM drive, which functions either as a portable DVD player (8x read speed) or CD player (16x read speed) player, depending on your needs. Should users need to transfer or back up data, they can swap the drive for the included floppy drive (only one drive can be used at a time).
Business professionals will appreciate the 15-pin VGA monitor connection and S-video port, which make it easy to connect either to a larger external monitor or a TV for video presentations. Even without the larger screens, however, both DVDs and graphics applications still look sharp thanks to the notebook’s 14.1-inch LCD display–which offers 1,024 x 768 resolution–and the ATI Mobility Radeon M6P graphics card (with 16 MB video memory). Audio-wise, the notebook boasts an integrated Cirrus Logic CS4205 sound card and built-in speakers, along with a microphone input and a headphone/speaker jack for connecting to external units.
Though the Dell Latitude C610 supports 802.11b Wi-Fi wireless networking (with a Type IIIA Mini PCI card slot), it doesn’t come with a wireless card, so you’ll need to purchase one separately to enjoy this feature. The remainder of the time, you can connect to the Internet via the built-in 56k modem, or join an integrated 10/100 Ethernet network to share info directly with other computers.
Peripheral connections stem from the USB 1.1 port (ideal for connecting to PDAs, MP3 players, printers, and more), the 9-pin serial port, the parallel port, and the PS/2 port (for an external keyboard or mouse). The unit also offers two PC card slots compatible with two Type I and Type II cards, in addition to a Type III card. Finally, the computer comes with a preinstalled Windows 2000 operating system.
The Dell Latitude C610, which measures 12.6 by 1.46 by 10 inches (W x H x D), has been tested thoroughly and is in excellent working condition. It’s also backed by a 90-day warranty on parts and labor.

Dell Latitude CPx Refurbished at Amazon
This refurbished Dell Latitude CPx is with Pentium III 650Mhz Mobile Processor.
Dell Latitude CPx Description:
The Dell Latitude CPx is extremely well equipped, boasting a 650 MHz Pentium III processor with 256 MB of memory, a 12 GB hard drive (specially shock mounted to reduce the possibility of damage if dropped), and a 14.1-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels.
Along with the basics, the unit comes with a 6x DVD drive in a hot-swappable bay. Other options include a 24x CD-ROM drive, a 4x CD-RW drive, a second (up to 18 GB) hard drive, a floppy disk drive, and a second battery. While you can swap out one of the drives (or the battery) from the bay to use the included floppy drive, you can also connect it externally through an included cable.
Other notable features include an S-video out port, in case you want to run a presentation to a VCR or TV monitor, and a pair of PC card slots (CardBus and Zoom Video support). It has one USB port and an SVGA out port. The battery is lithium ion, providing long-lasting life even on short charges.
While some newer notebook models have tried to incorporate the type of one-touch controls for starting programs that newer desktop keyboards now sport, Dell has pretty much left the Latitude’s keyboard layout alone, with one exception. With this system you have three choices of pointing-device support–you can attach a standard mouse or tablet to the unit’s rear serial or PS/2 ports, or you can use one of the two devices embedded in the keyboard and shelf.
The unit is relatively light in weight (6.74 pounds with battery and DVD-ROM drive installed) and well within the upper range of notebook computer size at 1.77 inches thick, 12.55 inches wide, and 9.94 inches deep.
