Dell’s XPS M1530 15.4-inch entertainment laptop is now available with two new display options - a 1440-by-900 pixel LED backlight LCD and a screen with older CCFL backlight and full high-definition 1920×1200 resolution.
The XPS M1530 also features standard CCFL displays with 1440×900 and 1680×1050 resolutions.
Dell Laptops to Feature Qualcomm’s Gobi Mobile Broadband Solution
Dell’s next-generation laptops, available later this year, will support a single-card EV-DO and HSPA 3G network connections through Qualcomm’s Gobi solution, the PC maker announced yesterday.
Dell explains that, using the Qualcomm Gobi, U.S.-based travelers who connect their laptops via EV-DO carrier networks (like Verizon Wireless or Sprint), will be also able to connect via HSPA carrier networks (like European Vodafone). Today customers who wish to connect to both types of networks must use two different mobile broadband cards.
Dell XPS M1530 Now with Intel Penryn Processors
Dell’s XPS M1530 15.4-inch entertainment laptop PC is now available in the United States with the new Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” processor, based on 45-nanometer technology.
The XPS M1530 is offered with the 45nm T8300, T9300, and T9500 CPUs, clocked at 2.4GHz, 2.5GHz, and 2.6GHz respectively. When configuring the notebook, these processors have the same prices as their 65nm “Merom” counterparts with smaller L2 cache size.
Dell Adds Penryn CPU Options to XPS M1730 Gaming Laptop
Dell Inc. now offers Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45-nanometer processors as options in its select XPS M1730 gaming laptop configurations for the U.S. market.
The 17-inch M1730 is now available with the Core 2 Duo T8300 and T9300 45nm CPUs, clocked at 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz respectively. The basic configuration, priced at $2,399, includes the T8300 chip. Selection of the T9300 adds $125 to the base price, but it is still cheaper than older 65nm Core 2 Duo T7800 and Core 2 Extreme X7900 options with + $400 and + $750 price tags.
Dell XPS, Inspiron Notebooks Now with Wireless USB
Dell Inc. has refreshed its XPS laptop PC line and the Inspiron 1525 notebook, which now optionally have a built-in Wireless USB module.
For an additional $150, customers can purchase the XPS M1330, M1530, M1730 and Inspiron 1525 notebooks with the new capability that enables computer peripherals and electronics devices - such as printers, external hard drives, mice, keyboards, digital cameras, and MP3 players - to connect to a system without a USB cable.

Dell Inspiron, XPS Laptops in HK Now with Penryn CPUs
The updated Dell Inspiron and XPS notebooks, refreshed with the new Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45-nanometer processors, are now available for customers in Hong Kong.
Dell’s laptop series that feature “Penryn” CPUs are the Inspiron 1420, 1520, and 1720, as well as the XPS M1330 and XPS M1730.
Dell Offers Ubuntu-Powered XPS M1330 Laptop
Dell now offers its XPS M1330 13.3-inch notebook with preloaded Ubuntu Linux operating system to U.S. customers.
The M1330 with Ubuntu 7.10 starts at $954. For that price you can get the laptop with the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5450 at 1.66GHz, 1GB of system memory, a 120GB hard drive, DVD burner, the integrated Intel GMA X3100 graphics, and a built-in 2-megapixel camera. The same XPS M1330 configuration with Windows Vista OS instead of Ubuntu costs $999.
Dell XPS M1730 Now with GeForce 8800M GTX SLI Option
The Dell XPS M1730 gaming notebook is now available with the NVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTX SLI dual graphics card option.
Dell’s performance team says the XPS M1730 with two GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB video cards earned a score of almost 13,500 in 3Dmark06 benchmark, which is about 49% performance gain over dual 8700M GT 512MB cards in the same notebook.
Dell and Microsoft to Sell Red-Branded PCs
Dell and Microsoft will start selling Product Red-branded notebook and desktop computers on Friday. The two companies will donate $50 for every sold Red laptop and $80 for every sold Red desktop to the Global Fund, which finances health programs, including AIDS-fighting, in Africa.
The Dell computers offered under the Red brand will be XPS M1330 and M1530 notebooks, as well as a XPS One desktop PC. The machines will run Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system and will sell for the same price as regular Dell models, Reuters reports.
Dell Notebooks Available Through Best Buy
Dell has started to sell its Inspiron and XPS notebooks through Best Buy’s stores and website, after the recently announced agreement between the PC maker and retailer.
Best Buy offers the 15.4-inch Inspiron 1521-JB and 1521-MB laptops powered by AMD’s processing technology, the 14.1-inch Intel-based 1420-JB, and the 13.3-inch Dell XPS M1330-AW. The notebooks are priced at $599.99, $899.99, $999.99, and $1,249.99 respectively, which are lower prices than those for the same configurations purchased through the Dell’s website.
Dell Notebooks Coming Soon to Best Buy Stores
Dell today announced that it will start selling its XPS and Inspiron notebook and desktop computers through more than 900 Best Buy stores in the United States in the next few weeks.
Best Buy will stock a variety of Dell’s laptops, including the XPS M1330 in white, the Inspiron 1521 in blue and black, and the Inspiron 1420 in black, according to the press release.
Dell Prepares XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Edition
Dell will launch a line of the XPS M1730 gaming notebooks with custom designs inspired by Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft game, NotebookReview reports.
The Dell XPS M1730 World of Warcraft Edition will have the same hardware specifications as the standard XPS M1730 notebook, which features a 17-inch display, Intel’s Core 2 Duo/Extreme processor, single or dual Nvidia GeForce graphics cards, and the AGEIA PhysX 100M physics processing unit. However, the exterior of the special edition laptop will have World of Warcraft designs along with original designs on the wings, LCD back and hinge cover reportedly. There are also exclusive original WoW artwork desktop backgrounds and screen savers.
Dell XPS M1530 Now Available
Dell released today the XPS M1530, a “sleek and stylish” 15.4-inch multimedia-oriented notebook featuring the Intel “Santa Rosa” mobile platform, NVIDIA dedicated graphics, a slot loading optical drive, and an HDMI output.
“With starting price of $999, the XPS M1530 is loaded with premium features, like built in webcam and fingerprint reader, and design accents like touch-sensitive multi-media buttons, brushed aluminum accents and a choice of sophisticated colors,” the press release says.
