Dell XPS M1330 Shipment Delays Explained
Dell has discontinued the Pearl White chassis color option on its XPS M1330 notebook, due to production difficulties. In addition, there are also part shortages, still causing shipment delays of this laptop, according to the post on Dell’s official weblog.
“You may have noticed on Dell.com yesterday we discontinued the Pearl White color. The reason is that we are just not able to produce the kind of volumes of high quality product that we need to support demand. It takes about 5 coats of paint to get the appearance we were looking for. We are working to ship white units that meet our standards to all customers who ordered them, but those may be the last of the units using the current process, as we continue to pursue alternate methods of producing high-quality white units,” the post says.
Dell XPS M1330 to Ship This Week
After the recently announced shipment delays, Dell Inc. has published it expect to begin large-scale production and to ship Dell XPS M1330 laptop PCs in all regions beginning this week.
However, there are some components like an optional “slim and light” LED backlight display that may add time to an estimated ship date, according to post at Dell’s official blog.
Dell XPS M1330 Shipments Delayed for Four Weeks
The estimated ship dates for new orders of Dell XPS M1330 notebook is about four weeks, because the process to ramp production has taken a bit longer than the company expected. In addition, some specific components like the thinner WLED display will add time to those estimated ship dates, Direct2Dell weblog reported.
“The reality is that due to the unique nature of some features of the notebook, we’ve had to work through some additional manufacturing processes”, the post at official Dell Inc.’s blog says.
