Compaq Presario V6500Z - a New Affordable Laptop
Hewlett-Packard has expanded its 15.4-inch notebook lineup with the affordable Compaq Presario V6500Z, featuring AMD processor and NVIDIA nForce 630M chipset.
The Presario V6500Z is offered with a choice of the AMD Sempron Mobile or the Athlon 64 X2 dual core CPU. The laptop’s chipset incorporates the NVIDIA GeForce Go 7150M integrated graphics, which manages the 15.4″ widescreen 1280-by-800 pixels display. There is no dedicated graphics module option. The HP Compaq Presario V6500Z comes with 512MB DDR2, 1GB or 2GB of system memory, and with a 80GB, 120GB or 160GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive, depending on the customer’s choice. There are also DVD burner and Combo drive options.
HP Compaq 2510p Ultra-Portable Now Available
HP Compaq 2510p, the Hewlett-Packard’s recently announced ultra-portable business notebook built upon Intel Centrino Pro “Santa Rosa” platform, is now available for purchase.
Along with 12.1-inch 1280×800 widescreen display with LED backlight and ambient light sensor, HP Compaq 2510p features Intel Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage processor and Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 incorporated in GM965 chipset. The 2510p supports up to 2GB of main DDR2 memory and comes with 1.8-inch SMART PATA hard drive at 4200rpm, providing up to 100GB of data storage capacity. This ultra-portable has built in optical drive, with a choice of combo drive or DVD burner.
HP Compaq 2710p Tablet PC Available
Hewlett-Packard’s 12.1-inch HP Compaq 2710p tablet PC, based on Intel Centrino “Santa Rosa” platform, is now available for purchase.
Intel Core 2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage processor paired with Intel GM965 chipset featuring integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 powers HP Compaq 2710p convertible notebook. The new tablet PC is currently offered with 1GB or 2GB of main DDR2 memory, which is expandable up to 4GB. It is configurable with up to 100GB 4200 rpm SMART PATA hard drive. Regarding optical drive, there is an option of HP 2700 Ultra-Slim Expansion Base dock with 7mm DVD+/-RW SuperMulti Drive.
HP Compaq 6510b, 6710b Available
Hewlett-Packard has announced HP Compaq 6510b and 6710b business laptops, both based on the latest Intel “Santa Rosa” notebook platform with the new Core 2 Duo processors featuring clock speeds up to 2.4Ghz and 800MHz front side bus.
HP Compaq 6510b has a 14.1-inch widescreen display with 1280×800 resolution, while HP Compaq 6710b features the 15.4-inch 1280×800 or 1680×1050 widescreen TFT. The 6510b and 6710b have the same specifications, except their screen size and weight of 5.38lbs and 5.7lbs, respectively. Both notebooks are built upon Intel GM965 chipset with an integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and are offered with up to 2GB of main memory, which is expandable to 4GB. HP Compaq 6510b and 6710b ship with SATA hard drives, providing up to 160GB of storage capacity, and enable a choice of combo drive, DVD-ROM, DVD burner or DVD burner with LightScribe technology.
HP Compaq 6910p Centrino Pro Notebook Released
HP Compaq 6910p, the 14.1-inch widescreen notebook featuring Intel “Santa Rosa” platform with Centrino Pro technology, is available for purchase at Hewlett-Packard’s website.
The Compaq 6910p comes with the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor with up to 2.4GHz clock speed. It ships with 1GB or 2GB of system memory, which is expandable to 4GB, and with up to 160GB hard drive. An integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 or a dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon X2300 manages the notebook’s 14.1-inch widescreen 1280×800 or 1440×900 display. An ultra-slim MultiBay II drive allows users to swap optical drives, such as offered DVD burner, DVD-ROM or combo drive, with secondary hard drives or switch the drive with a weight saver.
HP Compaq 6515b Review Quotes
HP Compaq 6515b, Hewlett-Packard’s the latest 14.1-inch widescreen notebook computer built on new AMD M690 chipset, was reviewed recently by Laptop Magazine, CNet, PC Magazine and Hardware Zone.
Reviewers say the AMD Turion 64 X2 powered 6515b business notebook offers decent performance and a lot of connectivity and security features for its affordable price, as well as improved display over its precursors.
HP 510 Affordable Notebooks Now Available in U.S.
HP 510, the 15.4-inch widescreen notebook computer for budget minded users, is now available in the United States. Hewlett-Packard has suggested $565 and $699 retail prices for Celeron 1.4GHz and Pentium 2.13GHz configurations, respectively.
The offered HP 510 laptops ship with 512MB of DDR2 memory and with 60GB 5400rpm hard drive. The cheaper Celeron model (RU961AA) incorporates combo drive, while the Pentium version (RX709AA) comes with DVD burner. Some HP 510 models are built upon Mobile Intel 915GM chipset, while others are based on 910GML chipset, according to PC maker. However, both chipsets provide Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 with up to 128MB of shared system memory.
HP Compaq 6515b, 6715b Business Laptops Announced
Hewlett-Packard today announced its HP Compaq 6515b and HP Compaq 6715b business notebook computers based on AMD’s platform and incorporating a variety of connectivity features.
With expected starting price of $649, the 14.1-inch widescreen 6515b and the 15.4-inch widescreen 6715b will be configurable with AMD Sempron and Turion processors, including 64-bit dual core Turion X2, and with a variety of connectivity features.

The offered HP Compaq nx6325 has a 15-inch 1024 x 768 XGA display and comes with 512MB of DDR2 main memory, 40GB 5400rpm SATA hard drive, and a DVD/CD-RW combo drive. The laptop incorporates ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 graphics with up to 128MB of shared system memory.

OnSale.com offers the brand new HP Compaq nx6310 laptop for only $379.99 after $150 rebate. The HP nx6310, with 15-inch non-widescreen 1024 x 768 XGA display, features Intel Celeron M 410 processor running at 1.46GHz, a 256MB of main memory, a 40GB SATA hard drive and a DVD/CD-RW combo drive.
The nx6310’s display is powered by an integrated Intel’s Graphics Media Accelerator 950 with up to 128MB of shared system memory. This graphics card is capable of running Windows Vista Aero feature, but you will need to upgrade the main memory in order to use forthcoming Microsoft’s operating system.
HP Compaq nc6400 Now With Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA
HP Compaq nc6400 laptop is now configurable with integrated Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA-based technology, Hewlett-Packard announced today.
“Customers can now enjoy the benefits of mobile broadband both in the United States – either with Cingular Wireless BroadbandConnect or high-speed EDGE services – and abroad in more than 115 countries in which there are UMTS or GPRS/EDGE networks available. The HP Compaq nc6400 is the first notebook with a tri-band UMTS modem supporting data rates of up to 3.6 megabits per second in the U.S. and in many countries around the world,” the press release says.

Wal*Mart Offers Sub-$400 Compaq Presario V5305WM
Wal*Mart yesterday started offering the Compaq Presario V5305WM 15.4-inch (1280 x 800) widescreen laptop for $398. The V5305WM notebook is powered by AMD’s Sempron 3300+ processor and comes with 512MB of main memory expandable to 2GB, ATI Radeon Xpress 200M graphics card with 128MB of shared memory and 60GB hard drive spinning at 5400rpm.
The Compaq Presario V5305WM notebook also has integrated 802.11b/g wireless, along with LAN port and a 56K modem. Intstead of old PCMCIA, the low-budget V5305WM has ExpressCard/54 slot.
HP Will Not Recall Sony Laptop Batteries
HP will not recall Sony-made batteries used in its laptops. The company believes it is safe to use those batteries because it reviewed and rejected Sony battery parts for nearly a year before buying any. Also, no overheating problems have been reported, USA Today reports according to HP spokesman Mike Hockey.
