Hewlett-Packard’s 13.1-inch thin-and-light Envy 13 and the 15.6-inch high-performance Envy 15 laptops are now available.
The Envy 13 and 15 sport sleek and lightweight design with metal elements and are based on Intel’s Core 2 Duo and Core i7 processors respectively. According to HP, the Envy 13 boasts the brightest display in its class, and the HP Envy 15 is the company’s fastest consumer notebook PC ever.
Measuring less than an inch thin and weighing 3.7 pounds, the Envy 13 has a chassis made of aluminum and magnesium. The notebook is based on Intel’s low voltage SL9400/SL9600 or ultra-low voltage SU9600 CPU and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512MB dedicated graphics. It comes with up to 3GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 250GB of hard drive space, and a 4-cell battery with an optional 6-cell extended-life unit. The laptop doesn’t include a built-in optical drive.
Besides the Intel Core i7 i7-720QM 1.6GHz or i7-820QM 1.73GHz quad-core mobile CPU, the 1.04-inch thin Envy 15 features the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 1GB gaming-class video card, four memory slots for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 7,200rpm hard drive, and a 6-cell battery with an optional 9-cell extended unit. The optical drive is excluded in this notebook also. Its 15.6″ full HD 1920×1080 display uses LED backlight.
