HP made a 30-second teaser video of the super-thin Envy 14 Spectre notebook. It looks like that the Envy Spectre is more than just a 14-inch version of the new Envy and it is possible that belongs to the ultrabook category.
HP today announced late 2011 refresh accross the HP Envy notebook line.
The entertainment-oriented Envy 15, 17, and 17 3D laptops have 1080p display options, but with the latest refresh HP included IPS screen technology on the 15.6-incher.

The Envy 14 features the Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors, a switchable graphics solution including the Intel GMA HD integrated and ATI Radeon 5650 1GB dedicated GPU, two memory slots for up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 640GB of hard disk space or 160/256GB SSD, and a DVD writer.
Hewlett-Packard has announced the 17.3-inch HP Envy 17, their new high-performance notebook for consumers.
The HP Envy 17 features the Intel core i5 or i7 processors, ATI Radeon 5850 1GB dedicated graphic card, two memory slots for up to 8GB of DDR3-1333 memory, support for two 2.5″ storage devices enabling up to 2TB of hard drive storage and up to 320GB solid state drive capacity, and a slot-load optical drive.
Hewlett-Packard has announced today two new models from their Envy high performance consumer laptop series – the 14.5-inch HP Envy 14 and 17″ Envy 17.
Both notebooks feature the latest 2010 Intel Core processors and ATI Radeon HD 5830 discrete graphics. They also include backlit keyboards, slot-loading optical drives, HP TrueVision HD web cameras, mini DisplayPort output, the latest wireless options including 3G mobile broadband in the Envy 14, and Beats Audio developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre.
The most reliable laptops in the market are those from Asus, Toshiba, and Sony, followed by Apple and Dell, according to a Sqare Trade’s reasearch which is based on a 3-year malfunction rates projection.
The failure rates for Asus, Toshiba, Sony, Apple and Dell notebooks are 15.6, 15.7, 16.8, 17.4, and 18.3 percent, respectively.

The Envy 13 and 15 sport sleek and lightweight design with metal elements and are based on Intel’s Core 2 Duo and Core i7 processors respectively. According to HP, the Envy 13 boasts the brightest display in its class, and the HP Envy 15 is the company’s fastest consumer notebook PC ever.
Measuring less than an inch thin and weighing 3.7 pounds, the Envy 13 has a chassis made of aluminum and magnesium. The notebook is based on Intel’s low voltage SL9400/SL9600 or ultra-low voltage SU9600 CPU and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 512MB dedicated graphics. It comes with up to 3GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 250GB of hard drive space, and a 4-cell battery with an optional 6-cell extended-life unit. The laptop doesn’t include a built-in optical drive.
Besides the Intel Core i7 i7-720QM 1.6GHz or i7-820QM 1.73GHz quad-core mobile CPU, the 1.04-inch thin Envy 15 features the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4830 1GB gaming-class video card, four memory slots for up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB 7,200rpm hard drive, and a 6-cell battery with an optional 9-cell extended unit. The optical drive is excluded in this notebook also. Its 15.6″ full HD 1920×1080 display uses LED backlight.
