The HP Mini 110 and Mini 210 netbooks are now equipped with the Intel Cedar Trail platform and accompanying 1.6GHz Atom N2600 and 1.8Ghz N2800 dual-core processors, respectively.
HP Adds New Laptops to Pavilion, Envy, Mini, ProBook, EliteBook Lineups
HP unveiled today new laptop models across their Pavilion, Envy, Mini, ProBook, and Elitebook laptop series.
For consumers, the new Pavilion notebook is the refreshed 14-inch dv4 which will most likely get the latest 2nd Generation Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” processors (although they weren’t mentioned in HP’s press release) and HP CoolSense technology, while the higher-end 14.5″ Envy will get these new CPUs for sure, as well as USB 3.0 support.
HP Compaq Mini CQ10-405DX $149.99 BF Netbook Specs Unveiled
BestBuy.com has published a product page with details of the HP Compaq Mini CQ10-405DX 10.1-inch netbook which will be selling on Black Friday for only $149.99.
The CQ10-405DX is a lower-end netbook and includes a single core Intel Atom N455 1.66GHz processor with the Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 3-cell battery, and Windows 7 Starter Edition OS.
HP Mini 210 Now with Dual-Core Atom
Hewlett-Packard has released the refreshed HP Mini 210 netbook, which now offers a dual-core Intel Atom option, DDR3 memory instead of DDR2, a redesigned chassis to accommodate a higher-capacity battery, and new color options.
Default battery in the updated Mini 210 is an “inline” 6-cell unit now, replacing the standard 3-cell pack.
HP Mini 5103 Business Netbook Now Available
Hewlett-Packard has released the HP Mini 5103 business netbook with optional touchscreen and the latest Intel Atom processors.
The HP Mini 5103 features a 10.1-inch 1024×600 or 1366×768 LED-backlit display with optional capacitive multitouch tehnology, the Atom N475 1.83GHz or N455 1.66GHz processor with the GMA 3150 integrated graphics, 2GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard disk space or up to 128GB solid state drive storage, a 4- or 6-cell battery, optional Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video Accelerator for 720p and 1080p HD video playback, and Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Starter or SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 OS.
HP Mini 210, 110 Netbooks Updated
Hewlett-Packard has expanded the HP Mini 210 netbook lineup to include Preppy Pink and White Crystal designs and announced a six-cell up-to-eight-hour battery option for the Mini 110.
The HP Mini 210 with the new finishes and the Mini 110, both featuring 10.1″ displays and Intel Atom CPUs, are expected to be available in the United States on June 15 with starting prices of $354.99 and $279.99, respectively.
Asus, Toshiba, Sony – Most Reliable Laptop Makers
The most reliable laptops in the market are those from Asus, Toshiba, and Sony, followed by Apple and Dell, according to a Sqare Trade’s reasearch which is based on a 3-year malfunction rates projection.
The failure rates for Asus, Toshiba, Sony, Apple and Dell notebooks are 15.6, 15.7, 16.8, 17.4, and 18.3 percent, respectively.
HP Mini 210, 210 HD Netbooks Now Available
Hewlett-Packard’s recently announced netbooks, the 10.1-inch HP Mini 210 and HP Mini 210 HD are now available for purchase.
The Mini 210 and 210 HD come with the Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, the Intel GMA 3150 integrated graphics, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 160GB or 250GB hard drive, a DVD burner, a 3- or 6-cell battery, and Windows 7 Starter Edition OS. Additionally, the 210 HD includes the Broadcom Crystal HD Enhanced Video accelerator for hardware decoding of HD 1080p high definition video.
HP Netbook Lineup Refreshed with Mini 210, 2102, 5102
Hewlett-Packard released today the updated netbook lineup, including the HP Mini 210, Mini 2102, and Mini 5102, all with 10.1-inch displays and the Intel Atom N450 or N470 processors.
The HP Mini 210 is a consumer netbook offered in black, silver, blue, and red. The black-only Mini 2102 is aimed at business users, but has the same specifications as the 210.
HP Mini 311 ION LE-Based Netbook Launched
HP launched today the Mini 311, an 11.6-inch netbook based on Nvidia’s ION platform.
Along with the 1366×768 LED-backlight display, the 3.2-pound Mini 311 sports the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, the ION LE graphics with support for full 1080i/p HD decoding, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB HDD, a 6-cell battery, and a 92% of full-size keyboard.
HP Announces Mini 5101 Netbook
Hewlett-Packard announced today the newly designed HP Mini 5101 10.1-inch netbook, featuring the Intel Atom N280 CPU at 1.66GHz, up to 320GB HDD at 7,200rpm or an 80GB solid state drive, Windows XP Home or SUSE Linux OS, and a 4-cell or 6-cell battery.
The LED backlight display has a resolution of 1024-by-600 or 1366-by-768 pixels. It’s managed by the Intel GMA 950 video chip.

HP Mini Mi Linux-Based Netbook Launched
Hewlett-Packard launched today the HP Mini Mi series, a Linux-based version of the Mini 1000 netbook.
Mi stands for Mobile internet. It’s a user-friendly interface built on Linux operating system. With Mi users get open source software, including a web browser, e-mail client, instant messaging application, OpenOffice for word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations, and multimedia software. However, the traditional Linux command line interface is disabled on this edition.
HP Mini 1000 to Get $40 Price Drop
The basic price for the HP Mini 1000 netbook will be $359.99 starting on Sunday 12/07/08, after a $40 drop, according to an email that we have received from Hewlett-Packard.
The basic Mini 1000 configuration currently includes an 8.9-inch display, the Intel Atom N270 processor at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM (after a free upgrade from 512MB), an 8GB solid state drive, 3-cell battery, and Windows XP Home operating system.
