Hewlett-Packard has released yet another Pavilion g6 affordable laptop series model – the HP Pavilion g6s.
Unlike the g6t, based on the previous generation Intel Core and Pentium “Arrandale” CPUs, the g6s comes with the 2nd gen Core i3, i5 and i7 “Sandy Bridge” dual-core chips.
HP unveiled today new laptop models across their Pavilion, Envy, Mini, ProBook, and Elitebook laptop series.
For consumers, the new Pavilion notebook is the refreshed 14-inch dv4 which will most likely get the latest 2nd Generation Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” processors (although they weren’t mentioned in HP’s press release) and HP CoolSense technology, while the higher-end 14.5″ Envy will get these new CPUs for sure, as well as USB 3.0 support.
Hewlett-Packard has expanded the Pavilion notebook PC line with addition of the 14-inch HP Pavilion dm4x, featuring the latest Intel CPUs.
Designed for both entertainment and office use, the dm4x can be configured with the 2nd Gen Core i5 and i7 dual-core processors and comes with the Radeon HD 6470M 1GB dedicated graphics card, 4 or 8GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 750GB of hard drive space, DVD burner, HP BrightView (glossy) LED-backlit display at 1366 x 768 pixels, and a battery life rated at “up to 6.75 hours” with the standard 6-cell unit.
The recenly launched HP Pavilion g series consumer-class budget notebook PCs are now available with AMD’s processors.

Starting at $519.99, the Pavilion g6t features the dual-core Intel Core i3-380M, i3-390M, or i5-480M processor, Intel’s HD integrated or the Radeon HD 6470M 512MB/1GB dedicated graphics, up to 6GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 750GB of hard disk drive capacity, a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo optical drive, LED-backlight screen at 1366×768 pixels, and Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Besides the refreshed case design, the updated 15.6-inch HP Pavilion dv6t Select Edition and 17.3-inch dv7t Select Edition come with the latest Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” dual- and quad-core processors and optional AMD Radeon HD 6000M series graphics. The 15.6″ dv6t Quad Edition, and 17.3″ dv7t Quad Edition have been already available with “Sandy Bridge” quad-core CPUs and Radeon HD 6000M, but now also have the new design.

The new 15.6-inch Pavilion dv6t and 17.3-inch dv7t feature 2nd Generation Intel Core processors, optional AMD Radeon 6000M series graphics, up to 1TB and 2TB of storage, respectively, a “dark umber” metal finish, quad speakers, Beats Audio, HP CoolSense cooling technology, optional Blu-ray, and USB 3.0.
HP has recalled its laptop and desktop PCs with the Intel 6 Series/C200 “Cougar Point” chipset, used in systems with 2nd Generation Intel Core “Sandy Bridge” processors.
The company says it stopped manufacturing products with the affected Intel chipset on January 31, and initiated a shipment hold on products in HP and channel inventory.

The 15.6-inch Pavilion dv6t Quad (dv6tqe) and 17.3-inch dv7t Quad (dv7tqe) come with the Intel Core i7-2630QM 2GHz, i7-2720QM 2.2GHz, or i7-2820QM 2.3GHz quad-core processor and up to 8GB of RAM. The smaller laptop includes the Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6570 1GB dedicated video card, 1366×768 display with optional touchscreen capability, and up to 1TB of hard drive space, while the bigger model has the Radeon HD 6570 option only, 1600×900 screen, and up to 2TB of storage using dual HDDs.

Hewlett-Packard has refreshed the HP Pavilion dm3t 13.3″ thin-and-light consumer laptop.
Around 1 inch thin Pavilion dm3t starts at 4.15 pounds. It now features the Intel Pentium U5400 ULV (ultra-low voltage) or Core i3-330UM ULV CPU with Intel HD integrated graphics and reduced power consumption, whereas the previous generation dm3t included the Core 2 Duo ULV. The notebook comes with up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, up to 640GB HDD or a 160GB SSD, a 6-cell battery, and a separately sold external DVD writer or Blu-ray combo drive. Its LED-backlight display has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels.
The HP Pavilion dm1z AMD Ultrathin-based ultraportable notebook with a 11.6-inch display is now available.
Its processor choices include the AMD Athlon II Neo or Turion II Neo chips. The Pavilion dm1z features the ATI Radeon HD 4225 integrated graphics, 2GB, 3GB or 5GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard disk space or a 128GB SSD, and an optional external DVD writer or Blu-ray drive. It’s 0.78-1.20 inches thin and weighs 3.24lbs with the standard 6-cell battery that provides “up to 7 hours” of run time.
