Vendors to Cut Prices for Intel Core Duo T2300E Powered Laptops

Intel Core Duo Yonah CPULaptop vendors, including Dell, Acer and HP, have begun cutting prices for Intel Core Duo (Yonah) T2300E CPU based notebooks, in an attempt to accelerate inventory clearance prior to the launch of new Core 2 Duo (Merom) based systems, Digi Times reports. The average selling price (ASP) of Intel Core Duo notebooks has gone down to less than US$1,000, indicated the sources.

Notebook models based on Intel’s Core Duo T2250 and T2050 processors, which are not listed with the other T-series Core Duo mobile CPUs on Intel’s pricing or product website pages, are priced between US$699-799, according to the sources.

Intel Core Duo U2500 ULV Processor to Come Soon

Intel Core Duo U2500 ULV ProcessorIntel is rolling out its Core Duo U2500 ultra-low voltage (ULV) CPU, according to Daily Tech.

The Intel Core Duo U2500 is currently the only dual-core ULV processor in Intel’s arsenal until the 1.06GHz U7500 Merom processor launches with Santa Rosa in Q2′07. It is reported that the U2500 is a 1.2GHz Yonah processor with 2MB L2 cache and a 533MHz FSB. The CPU consumes less than 1W during normal operation.
