Dell announced today the Precision M4500 15.6-inch mobile workstation for designers and engineers.

The Precision M4500 includes the Core i5 or Core i7 processor, the Nvidia Quadro FX 1800M or Quadro FX 880M graphics, and “optional HD+ sRGB LED screen with 100 percent user selectable color gamut support.” The notebook comes with an optional 64GB SSD MiniCard, optional 3MP camera and optional Gobi 2.0 mobile broadband support.

Dell has released the new Vostro 3000 series laptops for small business users. The new lineup includes the Vostro 3300, 3400, 3500, and 3700.

Featuring 13.3-, 14-, 15.6- and 17.3-inch LED-backlight anti-glare displays, the Dell Vostro 3000 notebooks are based on the Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 processor, depending on model. The notebooks come with the Intel integrated or nVidia GeForce dedicated graphics, up to 6GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB of storage space and a DVD burner.

The MSI Wind U160, which belongs to the company’s new line of Intel Atom “Pine Trail M”-based netbooks, is now available in the United States.

The U160 features a 10-inch 1024×600-pixel glossy LED-backlight display, the Intel Atom N450 processor with the GMA 3150 graphics, a 250GB hard drive, 1GB of DDR2 memory, a 6-cell battery, and Windows 7 Starter OS.

The HP ProBook 4320s, a new 13.3-inch business laptop, is now available for purchase.

The ProBook 4320s features the Intel Core i7-620LM, i5-520M, i5-430M, i3-350M, or i3-330M processor, the integrated Intel HD graphics, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner or Blu-Ray Combo drive, depending on model.

Acer has announced the new consumer-oriented Aspire and business-class TravelMate laptops, all based on the 2010 Intel Core processor family.

The 15.6-inch Aspire 5942 and 18.4-inch Aspire 8942 are entertainment notebooks and feature “first-class graphics solutions”, up to 1280GB of storage using dual hard drives, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, and optionally integrated TV tuner and Blu-ray optical drive.

Lenovo has released the IdeaPad Y460, a 14-inch laptop for consumers.

The new laptop features Intel’s Core i3-330M CPU, GMA HD integrated GPU, and a 320GB HDD or the Core i5-520M processor, a switchable graphics solution with both GMA HD and the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 1GB video card, and a 500GB HDD. Both models have 4GB of DDR3 memory, a DVD burner and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS.

Averatec has released the Intel Atom-based N1200 netbook.

Staring at 2.2 pounds, the N1200 features a 10.1-inch 1024×600-pixel LED-backlight display, the Atom N450 CPU with the GMA 3150 graphics, a 160GB or 250GB hard drive, 1GB of DDR2 memory which is expandable to 2GB, and a baterry life of 3 or 6 hours, depending on model. It runs Windows XP Home or Windows 7 Starter OS.

Panasonic has released recently the Toughbook H1 Field rugged handheld tablet computer with a 10.4-inch display that supports both digital pen and touch input.

The 3.4-pound H1 Field runs on the Intel Atom Z540 processor at 1.86GHz and includes Intel’s integrated graphics, 2GB of RAM, a 64GB solid state drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi, optional mobile broadband connection, GPS functionality, a built-in web camera, a 2D barcode reader and a RFID reader, and Windows 7 OS.

Panasonic has announced recently upgrades to its Toughbook 52 15.4-inch semi-rugged laptop. The Toughbook 52 now uses the Intel Core i5 processor, the ATI Radeon HD 5650 dedicated graphics, and support for up to 8GB of RAM.

The upgraded Toughbook also has new embedded wireless options, including Gobi 2000 mobile broadband technology with GPS, the latest Intel Wi-Fi chipset and Bluetooth 2.1.

NVIDIA today officially unveiled the second generation ION platform for Intel Atom-based netbooks and small form factor desktops.

The NVIDIA ION 2 chipset provides netbooks with “10 times the graphics performance of standard netbooks” and “up to 10 hours of battery life”.

HP unveiled today the EliteBook 2540p business-class ultraportable, “the company’s lightest EliteBook notebook PC”.

Starting at 3.3-pounds, the 12.1-inch HP EliteBook 2540p incorporates standard voltage Core i5 and i7 processors for full CPU performance or a power-saving low voltage Core i7 model, as well as Intel HD integrated graphics and up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM.
