Hewlett-Packard made available today the HP Pavilion dv6t series, the first Pavilion-branded laptop with a 16-inch display.
Along with the screen that has a movie-friendly 16:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1336×768 pixels, the dv6t features the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated or NVIDIA GeForce 9200M GS 512MB dedicated graphics, up to 8GB of DDR2 memory, up to 500GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive.
Hewlett-Packard has added Intel’s quad core processor to the HP HDX18t 18-inch laptops.
The HDX18t entertainment notebook is now configurable with the Intel Core 2 Quad QX9300 CPU at 2.53Hz, which is $150 pricier than the T9400 dual core chip with the same clock speed. Additionally, NewEgg offers a preconfigured HDX18t model – the HDX18-1180US for $1799.99 – with the Core 2 Quad Q9000 at 2GHz.
Alienware launched yesterday the M17 gaming notebook, featuring a 17-inch display, ATI CrossFireX multi-GPU technology, and Intel’s quad core processor.
The Alienware M17 notebook can be configured with dual ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3870 512MB graphics cards, the Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9300 CPU, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 1 terabyte of storage using dual 500GB hard drives, a Blu-Ray reader, 1920×1080 display, and optional HDTV tuner.
The recently announced Sony VAIO AW desktop replacement notebook, featuring an 18.4-inch display and Intel’s Centrino 2 technology, is now available for purchase.
SonyStyle offers the VAIO VGN-AW190 customizable models, as well as some preconfigured AW systems. The AW190 laptop is configurable with one of the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processors, up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM, a Blu-ray reader or writer, and up to 1 terabyte of hard drive space using two 500GB HDDs. The notebook is also offered with hybrid storage: 564GB (64GB solid state drive + 500GB HDD) or 628GB (128GB SSD + 500GB HDD).
Hewlett-Packard is now selling the recently announced HP HDX18t entertainment notebook PC, featuring a 18.4-inch screen and the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
The HDX18t is configurable with up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, and up to 640GB of hard drive space using two 320GB HDDs. It has an optical drive that can read Blu-Ray discs and burn DVDs, and optionally built-in HDTV tuner with remote control. The notebook features the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512MB video card which manages the display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.

The HDX16t is configurable with 2GB or 3GB of DDR2 memory, up to 320GB of hard drive space, a DVD burner or Blu-Ray Combo drive, and built-in HDTV tuner. The laptop incorporates the NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512MB video card which manages the display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and resolution of 1366×768 pixels. The system will be also configurable with a full HD 1920×1080 dual-backlight display and dual hard drives, according to the product page.
Hewlett-Packard has announced the HP HDX16 and HDX18 entertainment notebook PCs, featuring high-definition playback support, built-in TV tuners, Blu-ray technology, and a new chassis design.
“The HDX16 is a midsize notebook with a 16-inch diagonal widescreen with 720- or 1,080-pixel resolution display. The Alienware Area-51 m17x 17-inch gaming laptop is now available. The notebook sports dual Nvidia GeForce video cards, up to 1TB of storage space, and Intel Core 2 Extreme processors.
The m17x features a 17″ display supporting 1080p (1920-by-1200 pixels) high definition resolution. The screen is managed by dual Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX, 8700M GT or 8600M GT dedicated graphics cards operating in SLI mode. The laptop comes with a 45nm Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme processor, up to 4GB of DDR2 memory, and up to 1000GB of hard drive capacity using two 500GB HDD units. In addition, a hot-swappable third hard drive can be inserted into SmartBay, which is populated by default with a DVD burner or Blu-ray optical drive. This system is also configurable with a 64GB solid state drive and 1GB Intel Turbo Memory.
Toshiba’s new 17-inch gaming notebooks – the Satellite X205-SLI5 and Satellite X205-SLI6 – are now available for purchase. These laptops feature dual Nvidia GeForce graphics, as well as faster Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn†processors and more memory than in the previous SLI2 and SLI4 models.
The both preconfigured systems include two NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics cards in SLI mode, providing 512MB of GDDR3 dedicated video memory.
Asustek’s latest 15.4-inch entertainment notebook – the ASUS M50 with the Intel’s “Penryn” 45nm processor and NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS video card – is now available in the United States.
The M50 is offered as the Asus M50Sv-B1 model, featuring the Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 CPU at 2.1GHz and a HD DVD optical drive, and the M50Sv-A1 with the T9300 at 2.5GHz and a DVD burner. The both laptops come with the GeForce 9500M GS 512MB dedicated video card, which manages 15.4″ 1440-by-900 displays. There are also Dolby Home Theatre technology, Altec Lansing stereo speakers, 3GB of RAM, and a 250GB hard drive in the both models.
Asustek showcases at the ongoing 2008 CeBIT expo in Germany the Asus G70, its new 17-inch gaming notebook, which features dual Nvidia GeForce video cards.
According to SlashGear’s report, the G70 incorporates “Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo processor” and two GeForce 8700M GS GPUs in SLI setup. The notebook sports dual hard drives and up to 4GB of system memory. However, earlier announcement says it supports up to 8GB of RAM.
Clevo, a Taiwanese OEM notebook company, has introduced its M860TU and M570TU gaming laptops at the ongoing 2008 CeBIT show in Germany.
The Clevo M860TU features a 15.4-inch display with a resolution of 1900-by-1200 pixels and Intel’s “new generation” of chipset, processor, and wireless connection, most likely as parts of the upcoming “Montevina” Centrino 2 mobile platform. There are also the Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB video card, a HDMI output, e-SATA port, HSDPA 3.5G mobile broadband support, a built-in web camera, and a fingerprint reader accompanied by the Trusted Platform Module.

Both preconfigured systems include the Core 2 Duo T8100 “Penryn†CPU at 2.1GHz and two NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics cards in SLI, providing 512MB of GDDR3 dedicated video memory. These laptops incorporate two 160GB 5,400rpm hard drives for a total of 320GB, and a HD DVD optical drive with DVD writing capability.
Hewlett-Packard has updated this week the HP Pavilion HDX entertainment and gaming notebook with a new graphic card option.
The Pavilion HDX, which was available only with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT 256MB video card, is now also configurable with the Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTS 512MB GPU.
