Asus G70 Gaming Laptop with Dual GPUs Showcased
Asustek showcases at the ongoing 2008 CeBIT expo in Germany the Asus G70, its new 17-inch gaming notebook, which features dual Nvidia GeForce video cards.
According to SlashGear’s report, the G70 incorporates “Intel’s latest Core 2 Duo processor” and two GeForce 8700M GS GPUs in SLI setup. The notebook sports dual hard drives and up to 4GB of system memory. However, earlier announcement says it supports up to 8GB of RAM.
Clevo Introduces M860TU, M570TU Gaming Laptops
Clevo, a Taiwanese OEM notebook company, has introduced its M860TU and M570TU gaming laptops at the ongoing 2008 CeBIT show in Germany.
The Clevo M860TU features a 15.4-inch display with a resolution of 1900-by-1200 pixels and Intel’s “new generation” of chipset, processor, and wireless connection, most likely as parts of the upcoming “Montevina” Centrino 2 mobile platform. There are also the Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB video card, a HDMI output, e-SATA port, HSDPA 3.5G mobile broadband support, a built-in web camera, and a fingerprint reader accompanied by the Trusted Platform Module.
Toshiba Introduces Satellite X205-SLI2, SLI4 Gaming Laptops
The Toshiba Satellite X205-SLI2 and Satellite X205-SLI4 notebooks are now available for purchase. These 17-inch gaming laptops feature dual Nvidia GeForce graphics and the new Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” 45nm processor.
Both preconfigured systems include the Core 2 Duo T8100 “Penryn” CPU at 2.1GHz and two NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics cards in SLI, providing 512MB of GDDR3 dedicated video memory. These laptops incorporate two 160GB 5,400rpm hard drives for a total of 320GB, and a HD DVD optical drive with DVD writing capability.
HP Pavilion HDX Now with Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTS Option
Hewlett-Packard has updated this week the HP Pavilion HDX entertainment and gaming notebook with a new graphic card option.
The Pavilion HDX, which was available only with the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT 256MB video card, is now also configurable with the Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTS 512MB GPU.
Asus X55Sv Entertainment Laptop Revealed
The Asus X55Sv, the upcoming 15.4-inch multimedia laptop from Asustek, features the recently released Intel Core 2 Duo “Penryn” processor and the next-generation Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS video card, according to product specifications published on the company’s website.
The Asus X55Sv comes with the 45-nanometer Core 2 Duo “Penryn” T8100, T8300, T9300 or T9500 CPU, with speeds from 2.1 GHz to 2.6 GHz. The notebook will be also available with 65nm Core 2 Duo “Merom” processors. The Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS graphics card in the X55Sv has 512MB of dedicated video memory. This GPU supports DirectX 10 games and manages the notebook’s 15.4″ WXGA, WXGA+, or WSXGA+ glossy display. The laptop has up to 4GB of system memory, up to 300GB hard drive, a DVD burner, HD DVD ROM, or Blu-Ray optical drive, and the 1GB Intel Turbo Memory option.
Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV690 - First Laptop with HD DVD-R/RW Drive
The Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV690, the world’s first notebook to feature an HD DVD-R/RW drive, is now available for purchase.
This optical drive in the Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV690 entertainment laptop can play HD DVD movies and burn, erase, and re-burn data. The notebook features a 17-inch widescreen 1920×1200 display supporting 1080p content, an HDMI port, which can send 1080p high definition video to a HDTV along with 5.1 digital audio, and the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512MB video card.
Alienware Area-51 m17x, m15x Announced
The Alienware Area-51 m17x and m15x gaming laptops, which incorporate the latest NVIDIA GeForce 8800M video cards, a feature called BinaryGFX for switching between integrated and dedicated graphics, and Intel Core 2 Extreme processors, will become available during the first quarter of 2008, the company announced yesterday.
The Alienware Area-51 m17x sports a 17-inch display supporting a 1080p (1920-by-1200 pixels) high definition resolution. The screen is managed by dual Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTX or dual Nvidia 8700M GT graphics cards operating in SLI mode. This high-end laptop provides up to 640GB of data storage, plus an expandable Smart Bay hard drive option. The m17x ships with a Blu-Ray burner and supports up to 4GB system memory. In addition, it has the 1GB Intel Turbo Memory option for better system responsiveness. The Alienware’s upcoming notebook provides 802.11a/b/g/draft n wireless connectivity and an optional built-in TV tuner.
Asustek to Release Asus F7K 17″ Notebook
Asustek is to release the Asus F7K 17-inch entertainment notebook, based on AMD’s technology.
The Asus F7K features an AMD Turion 64 X2 dual core processor and the DirectX 10 compatible ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400 256MB dedicated video card, empowering the 17” 1440×900 widescreen display. The model mentioned on NotebookItalia website has 2GB of system memory, a 250GB hard drive at 5,400rpm, and a DVD burner.
MALIBAL Announces Quad Core DTR Notebook
MALIBAL today announced the release of its new Nine Series line of 17-inch desktop replacement notebooks (DTR), featuring Intel Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo Extreme desktop processors.
“In addition, the Nine Series also holds three hard drives with up to 750GB of space with RAID 0/1/5 support, and Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8 Series GPUs with DirectX 10 that deliver a fully optimized experience of Vista and all of the upcoming DX10-based games including Microsoft’s hit Flight Simulator X and Crytek’s highly anticipated Crysis,” the MALIBAL’s press release says.
Toshiba Satellite X205 Now with SLI Technology
Toshiba today announced the addition of NVIDIA SLI technology to its Satellite X205 17-inch gaming notebook series. The dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT video cards in SLI mode are available in the Satellite X205-SLI1 and the Satellite X205-SLI3 configurations.
“Both models feature dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processing units (GPUs) with combined 512MB of dedicated video RAM and are compatible with Microsoft DirectX 10, ensuring that gamers can take full advantage of the cutting-edge graphics technology that are available within today’s ultra-realistic gaming titles,” the company’s press release says.
Vigor Unveils Five New Notebook Models
Vigor Gaming Computer has announced a new series of notebook PCs, including 20-inch and 17-inch gaming laptops, as well as high-performance 15.4-inch mainstream models. The five new mobile computers are based on Intel’s or AMD’s processor technology, depending on model, and NVIDIA graphics cards, with many custom options available.
The Atlantis PRO system has the largest display in the new notebook line. It features a 20-inch widescreen 1680×1050 display, and is powered by an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile processor, accompanied by up to two NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX graphics processors in SLI configuration. The Vigor Gaming Atlantis PRO has a pair of up to 250GB hard drives, providing a total of 500GB of storage capacity. The HDDs in this laptop can operate in RAID 0 and RAID 1 mode. The Atlantis PRO’s base price is $2,799.
Eurocom D900C Phantom-X Features Quad Core CPU
Eurocom has introduced the D900C Phantom-X 17-inch gaming/workstation notebook PC, advertised as “the World’s first quad-core notebook”. It is powered by Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 or Q6700 processor with four CPU cores.
The quad-core Q6600 and Q6700 in Eurocom’s Phantom-X are designed for desktop computers and have 1066MHz front side bus, 8MB of L2 cache, and 2.4GHz and 2.66GHz clock speeds respectively. There are also a dual core processor options.
HP Pavilion HDX Entertainment Notebook Available
The HP Pavilion HDX entertainment laptop PC, featuring a 20.1-inch display, Intel “Santa Rosa” platform, Intel Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Extreme processor, ATI Mobility Radeon X2600 XT graphics, HD DVD drive, HDMI output and a dockable Media Center remote control, is now available for purchase.
HP Pavilion HDX, the Hewlett-Packard’s biggest consumer notebook to date, supports 1680 x 1050 resolution and high-definition 1080p quality on its 20.1″ Ultra BrightView widescreen display. A dual hinge lets you tilt the screen and move it forward or backward for better comfort. The graphics is powered by the DirectX 10-compatible ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT with 512MB of dedicated video memory, while the sound is managed by Altec Lansing speakers (4 Panel Mounted and 1 Sub-Wolfer). The HDX supports up to 7.1 external speaker configurations and features the integrated HP HDTV Hybrid NTSC/ATSC TV Tuner.
Alienware Area-51 m9750 Now Has Dual 512MB GeForce 7950 GTX
Alienware announced today the refreshed Area-51 m9750 gaming and multimedia notebook, which is now claimed to be the World’s first 17-inch laptop to fuse dual 512MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX graphics cards and Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
Along with Core 2 Duo Mobile “Merom” processor and 945PM chipset, the Intel “Napa” platform-based Alienware Area-51 m9750 features single NVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB GDDR3 graphics card or two of them paired using NVIDIA SLI technology. These graphics solutions empower the notebook’s 17-inch widescreen display with 1920×1200 or optional 1440×900 resolution.
MALIBAL Announced 20-Inch Veda Laptops
