Lenovo IdeaPad Y730Along with the Y530, Lenovo has made available recently the 17-inch IdeaPad Y730 consumer laptop.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y730 features the latest Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 640GB of hard drive space using two 320GB units, and a DVD burner or Blu-ray combo drive. The glossy “frameless” display is managed by ATI dedicated graphics and has a resolution of 1440×900 or 1920×1200 pixels, depending on model.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y530Lenovo and retailers in the US have started to offer recently the IdeaPad Y530, a new 15.4-inch consumer laptop that is based on Intel Centrino 2 technology.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y530 is available in two versions. The first is the Y530 Home Entertainment featuring Intel’s lower-end processors (Pentium T3200, Core 2 Duo T5800) and the Intel GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics. The Y530 High Performance Media variant comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo T5800 or more powerful P7350 and P8400, as well as with the Nvidia GeForce 9300M GS or 9500M G dedicated video cards. Both notebooks come with up to 4GB of DDR2 or DDR3 memory, depending on model, up to 320GB of hard drive space, and a DVD burner.

Lenovo, Toshiba, Acer Announce WiMAX Laptops

XOHM WiMAX Launch Event, BaltimoreLenovo, Toshiba, and Acer unveiled yesterday their first notebooks supporting WiMAX, next-generation wireless broadband technology.

The PC makers are now shipping laptops with Intel’s WiMAX/Wi-Fi Link 5050 module, formerly codenamed “Echo Peak.”

Lenovo IdeaPad U330The Lenovo IdeaPad U330 is a recently announced 13.3-inch consumer notebook, that features Intel Centrino 2 technology with switchable graphics.

The ultraporable, which weighs “just over 4 pounds”, comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo P7350 processor at 2GHz, 2GB or 3GB of DDR3 system memory, up to 320GB of hard drive storage, and a built in DVD burner. Users are enabled to switch between the GMA 4500MHD integrated and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 256MB dedicated video chip dynamically, without rebooting the system. The 4500MHD is a battery saver, while the 3450 provides better graphics performance.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10Lenovo today unveiled the IdeaPad S10, company’s first low-cost ultraportable laptop.

The 10.2-inch Lenovo IdeaPad S10 is based on the Intel Atom processor. The netbook will be offered in two configurations - one has 512MB of RAM and an 80 GB hard drive, while the second comes with 1GB of memory and a 160GB HDD. The S10 is “one inch thick and weighs just more than two pounds”.

Lenovo IdeaPad U330Lenovo unveiled yesterday four new IdeaPad notebooks for consumers. The new Intel Centrino 2 “Montevina”-based IdeaPad series include the U330 13.3-inch ultraportable, the 14.1-inch Y430 and 15.4-inch Y530 mainstream systems, and the Y730 multimedia-oriented desktop replacement.

Along with the new Centrino 2 processors, the “Montevina”-powered IdeaPads include up to 4GB of DDR3 main memory, Dolby Home Theatre sound, an integrated 1.3-megapixel web camera, HDMI output, optional Blu-Ray drive, frameless display, and various color choices.

Lenovo IdeaPad U110Lenovo has officially announced the availability of the IdeaPad U110 fashion-oriented ultraportable notebook PC, featuring an 11.1-inch display, Intel’s Centrino technology, black or red lid color, and a starting weight of 2.5 pounds.

The first two offered Lenovo IdeaPad U110 models feature a $1,899 price tag, and include the Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 low-voltage processor at 1.6GHz, the Intel GMA X3100 integrated graphics, 2GB of system memory, a 120GB hard drive spinning at 4,200rpm, and an external DVD burner, since the notebook does not incorporate a built-in optical drive. The laptop’s 11.1″ widescreen display with LED backlighting has a resolution of 1366-by-768 pixels.

Lenovo IdeaPad U110B, U110RThe Lenovo IdeaPad U110 11.1-inch ultraportable notebook is coming soon to the United States, according to product pages at J&R.

The 2.3-pound IdeaPad U110 will be available at J&R in at least two versions - the black U110B and the U110R with a red top cover. The both models feature the Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 low-voltage processor at 1.6GHz, 3GB of RAM, and a 120GB hard drive. The laptop, which is only 0.7-inch high, does not include a built-in optical drive.

The Y510 is based on the Intel’s “Santa Rosa” notebook platform, and comes with up to Intel Core 2 Duo T5550 processor at 1.83GHz. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 features the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, up to 250GB 5400rpm hard drive, 2GB of system memory expandable to 4GB, and a DVD burner. The notebook’s 15.4″ display has a WXGA 1280-by-800 resolution.

Lenovo IdeaPad Y710The 17-inch Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 notebook, which is a part of the company’s new IdeaPad consumer laptop family, is now available in the United States.

The Y710 is based on Intel’s 45-nanometer Core 2 Duo processing technology codenamed “Penryn” and comes with up to Core 2 Duo T9300 CPU at 2.5GHz. The Lenovo IdeaPad Y710 features the ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600 256MB video card, up to 500GB 5400rpm of hard drive storage with a secondary HDD, 2GB of system memory expandable to 4GB, and a DVD burner or a Blu-Ray optical drive. The notebook’s 17″ display has a 1440 x 900 resolution.

Lenovo IdeaPadLenovo prepares the release of the IdeaPad notebooks, aimed at consumer market, SlashGear reports.

“The IdeaPad will come in three screens size, 11-inch, 15-inch, and 17-inch. It will feature a “Facial Recognition” biometric authentication system using the 1.3megapixel webcam, Dolby sound, SSD drive options, touch sensitive multimedia controls, and a unique frameless design that creates no ‘raised’ rim around the edge of the screen (to give the appearance of no actual bezel). Under the hood, these systems will be powered by Intel’s Santa Rosa platform,” according to SlashGear.
